IIT Mandi Admission 2025 Begins for MA in Development Studies, Apply by April 11

The 80-credit program promotes regional, local, and international issues of development, environmental responsibility, and independence in the Himalayan belt. Furthermore, chosen candidates can pursue the M.A.+ Ph.D. Dual Degree, enhancing their academic skills in the field.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi has released the applications for the MA in Development Studies programme. The programme is a two-year course under the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Mandi. With 80 credits of the programme, the course emphasizes concepts related to empowerment, sustainability, and development in the Himalayan belt on a local, regional, and global level. Additionally, chosen candidates have the option to pursue the M.A+ Ph.D. Dual Degree, which enhances their research abilities in the field.
The application process at IIT Mandi for MA in Development Studies involves submitting an online application, followed by a written test and/or interview. The list of selected candidates will be published on the IIT Mandi official website.
IIT Mandi MA in Development Studies Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the MA in Development Studies course, applicants must hold a graduation degree from a recognized institute/ university with a minimum of 55% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 out of 10. However, candidates belonging to the SC, ST, OBC (NCL), and PwD categories are provided with a relaxation, requiring a minimum of 50% marks or a CGPA of 5.5 out of 10 in order to enrol on the programme.
IIT Mandi MA in Development Studies Course Details
The IIT Mandi MA in Development Studies course duration is 2 years, with an average fee of INR 30,000 per semester. The last date to submit online applications is April 11, 2025. Further, the authorities will publish the list of shortlisted candidates on April 15, 2025. The online written test is tentatively scheduled between April 21 to 25, 2025, followed by the online interview from April 26 to 29, 2025.
