CLAT 2025 Result Hearing On May 5 in SC; Consortium Releases Important Notice

In a major development concerning the CLAT-UG 2025 examination, the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India has, through an interim order dated April 30, 2025, stayed the judgment passed by the Delhi High Court in WP (Civil) No. 4157/2025 (Shivraj Sharma v. Consortium of National Law Universities) and related cases.

The stay was issued in response to SLP (Civil) Diary No. 22324 of 2025, filed by Siddhi Sandeep Ladda, a candidate who had raised objections regarding unequal treatment in the revision of marks due to errors in question sets.

No Revised Results to Be Published Until Further Orders

The Supreme Court’s interim relief puts a hold on the publication of revised marks and merit lists, which had been ordered by the Delhi High Court following the identification of flawed questions in certain sets (B, C, and D) of the UG paper. The Consortium had been directed to revise and republish the merit list within four weeks — a process now paused.

Dasti Notice to HC Petitioners

In a significant move, the Supreme Court has further directed that dasti notice be issued to all candidates who had challenged the CLAT results before the Delhi High Court. This ensures that those candidates are formally notified and can participate in the ongoing proceedings before the apex court.

Next Hearing on May 5, 2025

The matter has been listed for hearing on May 5, 2025, and the Consortium of National Law Universities has stated that it will be seeking expedited adjudication of the case. All candidates who had been involved in the High Court proceedings are advised to make the necessary arrangements for their legal representation.

Official Advisory to Candidates

Candidates who appeared for CLAT-UG 2025 are requested to take note that:

  • No revised results will be published as of now.
  • The existing merit list remains valid until further orders from the Supreme Court.
  • Those involved in the Delhi HC cases should prepare for the upcoming Supreme Court hearing.

For continuous updates, candidates should visit the official website of the Consortium and follow court developments closely.
