CLAT 2025 Result Hearing Postponed, SC To Hear Pleas Tomorrow, One More Petition Filed

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a significant plea on May 7, 2025, challenging the Delhi High Court’s judgment in the CLAT UG 2025 matter. The ongoing legal proceedings could impact the conduct and outcomes of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for undergraduate admissions to premier National Law Universities (NLUs) across India.

The original petition, filed by Siddhi Sandeep Ladda, contests the manner in which the CLAT UG 2025 examination was conducted and evaluated. The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice A.G. Masih was initially set to hear the case on May 6. However, the matter—listed as item no. 56 in the supplementary cause list—was adjourned and will now be taken up tomorrow.

In a fresh development, another CLAT UG 2025 aspirant has moved the Supreme Court, reinforcing the concerns raised in the original petition. With multiple candidates now questioning the exam process and the Delhi High Court’s earlier ruling, the issue is gaining momentum ahead of the NLU admission cycle.

The Delhi High Court had earlier dismissed similar pleas, asserting that the Consortium of National Law Universities had followed due procedure in administering the exam. However, petitioners argue that the evaluation mechanism and alleged discrepancies in the exam pattern warrant closer scrutiny.

Legal experts believe the apex court's observations could influence admission timelines and processes, particularly if any relief is granted to the petitioners. More updates are expected following the Supreme Court hearing on May 7.
