NEET Notification 2026 (OUT): The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the notification and information bulletin for the NEET UG 2026 on February 8, 2026. The NEET 2026 notification has been published on the exam website- neet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must read the information bulletin NEET UG 2026 carefully to know the NEET 2026 exam date, schedule, eligibility, application process and fee, exam pattern, syllabus, list of exam cities and admission procedure. The NTA NEET UG 2026 notification PDF download file has been shared here. The NEET 2026 application form is available from February 8 to March 8, 2026. 

The NTA conducts the NEET UG exam for admission to undergraduate Medical, Nursing and other allied courses such as MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, Ayurveda, Unani, and Siddha Medicine, BVSC & AH, among others.

The last date to apply for the NEET UG 2026 exam was March 11, 2026. The NTA made the NEET application form 2026 available for around 33 days.

NTA NEET UG 2026 Notification: Eligibility Criteria

The NEET 2026 notification PDF informs candidates about the latest eligibility criteria in terms of age limit and qualification. Candidates who fulfill the prescribed conditions will be eligible for the exam. Have a look at the NEET eligibility criteria 2026 below-

  • Candidates who are 17 years of age at the time of admission or will attain the same by December 31, 2026, can apply for NEET exam. There is no upper age limit.
  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 Board exam or equivalent with Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Biotechnology and English subjects before the cutoff date.
  • General category candidates must obtain a minimum of 50 per cent aggregate marks, and reserved category candidates should secure 45 per cent (PwD-General) and 40 per cent (SC, ST, OBC, Reserved PWD).
  • Indian Nationals/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) who wish to pursue MBBS/ BDS from a foreign university also need to qualify the exam.

Students can enroll for the NEET UG 2026 exam by filling out the application form. The NTA NEET form has been released along with the notification. Eligible students need to register for the exam and submit their applications. The NEET application fee needs to paid online with the form.

NEET 2026 Information Bulletin Details

The NTA informs the details shared below through the NEET UG 2026 information bulletin. Have a look at the details below

NEET Application Form: The NTA released the NEET application form online on neet.nta.nic. The application form process has four stages- Registration, Application Form, Document Upload and Fee Payment.

NEET Exam Date: The notification mentions the exam date and timings. The NEET is conducted in a single day and slot. The exam duration is 180 minutes or 3 hours. As per the Indian Standard Time, the exam is scheduled from 2.00 to 5.00 PM. 

NEET Exam Centres: NEET 2026 exam centres are generally located in 566 cities in India and in 14 cities abroad. The number of NEET 2026 exam centres are 5,468. Candidates need to select three exam cities while filling the form. The NTA allots the NEET exam centre based on the choices filled by the candidates and the availability of seats at the respective exam centre.

NEET Exam Pattern: The NEET exam pattern informs that the exam is paper-pencil-based test of 3 hours carrying 180 questions from Chemistry, Physics and Biology. The medium of the NEET question paper is English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Q:   What is the purpose of NEET UG Exam?

The purpose of the NEET exam is to verify the eligibility of students for admissions to MBBS, BDS, BSc and other undergraduate courses in government and private medical colleges/ institutes. It is a pre-medical entrance exam for students who want to take admissions to over 66,000 MBBS and BDS seats in colleges or institutes across India. The NEET UG exam is also conducted for admission to Ayush courses in medical institutions and BSc Nursing in Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals.

Q:   Can a student do MBBS without NEET?
A: 

Students cannot do Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) without qualifying the NEET UG exam. Clearing the NEET exam is the minimum eligibility requirement to pursue the MBBS course in India.

The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam timing is 2 PM to 5 PM. Test takers needed to report to the exam centre latest by 1 PM. They could not leave the exam hall before 5 PM. 

Q:   What should I do? I am unable to fill out the NEET application form as my Aadhar is not linked to my mobile number.
A: 

If your Aadhaar card is not linked to your mobile number and you are facing problems while filling out the NEET application form, then you should link your Aadhaar to your mobile number first.

You can only do it via a Aadhaar enrollment center and it is not possible to link it from online portal of UIDAI. Once your Aadhar is linked to your mobile number, you can complete your NEET application form. It is very important to ensure that you have filled out all details are accurately to avoid any issues during the application process.

Q:   Is NEET exam tough for an average student?
A: 

NEET exam can be a little tough for average students, given the competition and difficulty level. However, average students can crack the NEET UG exam with disciplined and consistent efforts. To get admission to DY Patil University, Navi Mumbai, based on the NEET results, students need to attain a valid cutoff rank for the MBBS and BDS courses. Both courses have different cutoffs for each All India category.
