Q. Congratulations! Did you expect to qualify the CTET exam?
Yes, I had full confidence in qualifying the CTET exam and I think everyone should have.
Q. Could you tell us your preparation strategy that helped you crack the exam?
First, I went through the complete CTET syllabus and CTET exam pattern for paper 1. Once I completed studying all the topics as per the syllabus, I solved as many CTET previous year question papers as I could.
After a year’s preparation, I have concluded that to qualify the CTET exam, following things are necessary:
- Understanding of Child Psychology, Learning Theories, implementation of Education Psychology and Philosophy of Education
- Understanding of basic Mathematics, EVS, Hindi and English
- Command on language is most important to solve all the parts of both the papers
Q. Did you take any coaching for this exam?
No, I did not take any coaching for the exam. However, I made my concepts of Psychological and Educational Theories clear with the help of Google and YouTube.
Q. What study plan did you follow for the exam?
I did not follow any specific study plan to prepare for CTET. However, I devoted last 30 days of my preparation in solving the previous years’ CTET question papers. I think everyone should have a study plan as per his or her own need and comfort level.
Q. Which books did you read to prepare for the exam?
I majorly studied from ‘CTET Success Master Paper-I Class I-V with 15 CTET Practice Sets’ by Arihant Publications. Apart from that, I took the help of Google and YouTube to clear different concepts.
Q. What as per you are the mistakes one should avoid while preparing for the exam?
One of the common mistakes candidates do is not correcting the errors done in the practice papers. It is very important to correct those mistakes so that one can attempt all 145 questions in the exam correctly.
Q. Any tips for students who are planning to take the exam next year?
I recommend candidates to always keep a note of the following points:
- Do not study from too many books and do not follow too many online channels. It is beneficial to stick to one relevant source.
- Time management in the exam is difficult for everyone. Therefore, divide the time for all the parts of the paper and practice at home according to your created time plan.
- On exam day, you should be mentally fresh. Therefore, do not take any stress, keep yourself motivated and take a sound sleep the night before the exam.
Q. What are your future plans?
Currently, I am preparing for competitive exams like HTET, KVS and DSSSB. Once I get a teaching job in a reputed school, I will start my preparation for UPSC.
