CTET exam is conducted every year by the Central Board of Secondary Education to determine the eligibility of candidates as Class 1 to 8 teachers. Aspirants need to qualify the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam in order to teach in central schools such as KVS, NVS, etc. as well as unaided private schools. CTET exam was conducted in the offline mode so far. However, from 2021 onwards, the exam will be conducted in the online mode. After the conduct of the exam, the CBSE releases the CTET question paper on the official website to allow aspirants to download the papers and practice them to appear for the upcoming CTET exam.

CTET Exam Pattern: Number of Questions & Marking Scheme
The CTET exam comprises two papers- Paper 1 and 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for candidates who want to become teachers for primary classes (Class 1 to Class 5) and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach elementary classes (Class 6 to Class 8). Candidates who want to teach classes 1 to 8, need to appear for both papers. CTET 2018 question paper contained 150 questions in each paper based on the CTET exam pattern.
