To get admission to BTech at Calcutta University, students need to qualify for the state-level entrance exam, i.e., WBJEE with a valid score. Candidate must also meet the minimum eligibility criteria, which is a class 12 pass with 50% aggregate. Eligible students can further fill out the online form (caluniv.ac.in). The university further shortlists students based on their entrance test scores and allot seats.

Calcutta University WBJEE cut off 2023 was concluded after the release of the Mop-Up Seat Allotment Result for admission to the BTech course. As per the Calcutta University cut off 2023, the last round closing rank for the BTech course ranged between 1207 and 27788 for the General All India category students. Considering the WBJEE cutoff 2023, candidates seeking admisison to Calcutta University BTech programme must secure a rank between 753 and 27788 (for General category). 

The University has not released the stream-wise placement data for BTech. As per the combined statistics given in the NIRF report 2024, out of 289 students, 199 were placed during Calcutta University BTech placements 2023. This makes the placement rate 69%. Calcutta University offers BTech in multiple specialisations. Calcutta University BTech admission is based on WBSEE, subject to fulfilment of the eligibility criteria. The eligibility criteria require the applicants to have passed Class 12 with an aggregate of at least 60%. Additionally, they must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics in Class 12. Hence, a candidate scoring less than 60% in Class 12 is not eligible to apply for BTech at Calcutta University. Such candidates can explore other college and universities offering offline and online BTech courses.

The placement rate for PG (3-year) and PG (5-year) courses has been fluctuating over the past three years. On the other hand, the placement rate for PG (2-year) courses was the same in 2021 and 2022, however it increased in 2023. No, studying at Faculty of law, Calcutta University is not at all expensive. The fees structure is very reasonable and better than other law colleges of the area. Doing 5 year BA+ LLB course from this istitution costs 87.2 K - 3.2 L, which is very resonable if we see the returns on investment. The placement packages of this Institute are also very good, seeing the fees structure. The median package offered to BA LLB and PG  students during the recent placement drive were 7.84 LPA and 9.20 LPA respectively. Various scholarships are also provided to students, so that they can get some relief from the fees. So overall it can be said that, studying at Faculty of law is not very expensive. 

The Calcutta University highest package or the salary details for 2024 drive are yet to be released. However, the median package for the 2023 drive is disclosed in the NIRF report 2024. The separate placement data for ECE has not been released yet. However, the University has disclosed the overall placement details for BTech. From 2021 to 2023, a fluctuating trend was observed in the BTech placement rate.
