B.Tech. in Aerospace Engineering - Batch of 2024
4.0
Our college has an excellent research focus, great campus life, and decent infrastructure.
Placements: In my batch, about 78% of the registered candidates got placed. The average package was 16.08 LPA and the median was 17.5LPA. One of my friends got the highest package in our batch in a Dubai-based start-up company with a package of about 60 LPA. The roles offered vary on the career path chosen by aerospace engineers, those who chose core jobs were offered roles like structural analyst, and design while others who have taken up jobs in the data science and software-developed sectors, roles include machines learning engineer and data analyst. Some candidates also secured PPOs as product managers.
Infrastructure: In our department, classrooms are decent and not on par with other departments and modern standards. Most of the academic buildings are Wi-Fi enabled. For first-year common courses and a few interdisciplinary courses, there are state-of-the-art lecture halls. There are North Indian and South Indian messes both further separate as veg/non-veg. A biweekly fixed menu is followed, and the food is average to good depending on the day. There are also 2 food courts in the academic zone and hostel zone, and a restaurant called zaitoon in the hostel zone. The restaurant is affordable and serves good food.
Faculty: All professors in our department are PhDs. While some are good at teaching, most of them are decent at best but they are backed by good research experience. The quality of the teaching is unfortunately also affected by the outdated courses which doesn't make the aerospace curriculum industry relevant. Students will have to do research under professors and publish papers to be eligible for good post-graduate opportunities. Coming to the exams, following what is taught in the class is usually sufficient. The difficulty of the exams can be considered between average-tough. There is no pass percentage, depending on the professor.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in physics. The course contains a lot of engineering problems where physics is extensively used. The best thing about this course is that it is also mathematically demanding and will be useful in learning CS courses if one chooses to. I wish the course had more emphasis on the industry requirements such as drone designing, UAVs, and clubbing recent developments like AI and ML to make the learning more practical. The campus is beautiful, we have wildlife living alongside us, bringing us closer to nature.

I'm dissatisfied with the aerospace, but it has good campus life, challenges, and lessons for life.
Placements: According to the survey conducted, placements for graduates of Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras are average, with the salary package offered was 18 LPA. However, based on my observation and experience as a student here, there were zero core placements for Aerospace graduates last year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of our department is horrible with some ceilings falling off. The freshers' hostel is no less than a 5-star hotel, with all the facilities in it. Mess food is also nice, offering a wide variety of cuisines, with separate messes for North and South Indian menus. Wi-Fi is strong, and the libraries are very good, providing a great study environment.
Faculty: Some faculty members are good, while others are not as effective. Course curriculum is well-organized and student-friendly, with manageable pressure and minimal uneasiness. Faculty can be inconsistent, sometimes, they are good, and at other times, it may be difficult to keep up with them. Difficulty level increases with each semester, making it more challenging.

The campus life at our college is very peaceful.
Placements: Every year, only 60-70% of students get placements. The remaining students opt for higher studies. The highest salary package offered is 23 LPA. The average salary package offered is 15 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 10 LPA. Placements depend on students' efforts and skills they learn.
Infrastructure: The aerospace department was constructed in 1971. It is one of the old departments in IIT Madras with the latest technology. It provides free Wi-Fi, a seminar hall, centralised air-conditioners, and classrooms with digital boards. Every hostel has free Wi-Fi, a television room, a kitchen room to cook, machines, and snacks for late-night cravings.
Faculty: Faculty members are very helpful and highly qualified. The course curriculum is updated and very relevant. The exam difficulty depends on the professors' teaching. Sometimes, it is like only taking assignments. We have mid-semester and end-semester exams.
Other: As I am enthusiastic, I chose this course. A lot of events and fests are conducted throughout the year.

Our college provides good placements and great infrastructure.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed in our college. The highest salary package offered is 60 LPA, the lowest salary package is 10 LPA, and the average salary package is 20 LPA to 25 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Groww, Ola, Google, Microsoft, etc. Around 20% of students got internships in our course at Brain and company, Namura, BCG, etc. Top roles offered are software developer, data analyst, HR, finance advisory, etc.
Infrastructure: All the facilities available in our college are great. Wi-Fi works well. Labs and classrooms are very good. Library is a good attraction. Sports and medical facilities are great but the food is not up to the mark. IITM hospital provides good care for patients and free medication for our college students.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is relevant to the world but there are not many job opportunities. Semester exams are difficult. Students need to be attentive in class. The pass percentage is 98%.

It is the best college for studying. It is in the top 3 colleges in India, considering all aspects.
Placements: Approximately 85% of students in our branch got placed through the institute. The highest salary package offered was 30 LPA, the lowest was 5 LPA, and the average was 6.5 LPA. Top recruiters are HUL, ISRO, DRDO, and other aviation companies. Around 70% of students got internships from HUL and DRDO. Top roles offered in our course are aerospace technician, cad technician, design engineer, maintenance engineer, etc.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are excellent, updated from time to time according to the requirements of students. Labs are equipped with high-level facilities. Wi-Fi is good throughout the institute. For the quality of hostels, I would rate 2.5 out of 5 due to their lack of cleanliness. Food is good for every student. They provide all varieties, like north Indian and south Indian food items. We have good medical facilities. For sports, I would rate 4.5 out of 5 because our college gives the utmost importance to sports, keeping in mind the fitness of students.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college have acquired vast and correct knowledge in their fields from international colleges. IIT Madras is the top college in the research field. It's tough to study the subjects, so we have to study through the internet. The course curriculum is good for making students industry-ready. The difficulty level of semester exams is high, and the pass percentage is around 70%.
Other: I have chosen this course due to the opportunities available at our college after contacting our seniors. The best thing about our course is that most of the subjects are taught practically, which makes us more interested in the course. There should be a new building for our aerospace department. Events and fests are great. They are ISO certified.

It is absolutely a great college and has been had NIRF-1 rank since 6 years. The food is excellent.
Placements: In 2020-2021 placements, about 223 students got selected for pre-placement offers. The highest salary package offered is 1.5 crores per annum for computer science. A very low percentage of students got internships from our branch. Many companies visited here, or around 150 companies visited. Among them, many are software profile companies, and some are core related. Placements are perfect.
Infrastructure: Hostels are available for every student. There are 18 hostels, among which 12 are for boys and 6 are for girls. The internet or Wi-Fi facilities are provided. Labs and classrooms are top-notch, and there is a 4-storeyed library. Lacs of books are available. There are 6 different messes, and the food served is excellent. All types of food items are available, and the food quality is awesome.
Faculty: Teachers here are highly qualified. There are many professional professors, and the teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant, but I think students don't ready for industrial work. Semester exams in our college are good, and the pass percentage is high.
Other: It is the best B.Tech college in India.

Review of IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology.
Placements: More than 70% of the students got placed, and many students opt for higher studies. The highest salary package offered is around 30 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered is 6 LPA. Companies on the first day of placement are the top esteemed companies, namely Airbus, SpiceJet, Air India and many others. Almost 100% of the students got internships from the current passing out batch as it is mandatory for students to get internships in IITM before the start of the 7th semester. Students got roles like project manager, project designer and many other esteemed positions in top reputed companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in IITM is far advanced, and it contains a lot of space for building your ideas. CFI is one of the successful startups for the above privilege. There is 24x7 access to Wi-Fi, library and CFI. People are always available to help you if you feel isolated under the initiative MITR. The mess food, the way of serving it, and the scheme for it are top class. Hostel and restrooms are at top hygiene conditions and under the supervision of the CCTV and warden, which makes it highly secured.
Faculty: Professors are the best for our careers. They help you with concepts not only based on subjects but also gives a lot of life advice and recommendations for high-paid jobs and internships on their scaling basis of students. Courses are very flexible and can be added or drop if you feel it is not necessary. By this, your CGPA won't drop, and you can get hands-on experience with a variety of courses. Semester exams are very challenging and make us ready for real-world problems. It takes our skills and level of thinking to the next level.
Other: I have chosen this course because of my interest in aviation and aero models. I highly recommend people to opt for this course because of its industrial applications and hands-on things in which you are passionate. The improvement can be made by making students highly knowledgeable about internships and placements at the start of the first year. Students in the first year are clueless about what they are pursuing in life, so if they get an idea about their goals, then it makes their college life meaningful. The well-known Saarang fest is conducted in IITM, where students from almost every college participate and expose their talent to the entire world. There are various scholarships available for students, which is making it easy for families under poverty to access the top-class education provided by IITM. It has a lot of technical domains where people of a particular interest gather and make many products. Nirman is one of the IITM incubator cells, which helps to make their products ideas real and make every people access their products. Shastra is one of the tech fests held in IITM, which helps people with no idea of technology. Students can generate enthusiasm towards technology through Shastra workshops and popular speeches from top positioned people.

Good placements, really good course structure and infrastructure, value for money, NIRF rank 1.
Placements: Talking about the placements nearly 70-80% of students got placed in the previous placement season with the highest package (CTC) around 29 lacs. The highest Salary - 29 lacs (CTC) Minimum salary -6-7 lacs (CTC) Average Salary - 12-13 lacs (CTC). Most students opt for non core placements.
Infrastructure: IITM facilities are top notch, you get a clean room with all the essential items - Bed, cupboard, study table, LAN port, neat and clean toilets, spacious hostels, top notch infrastructure of classes and Library. Library contains thousands of books. Quality of mess food is great, rich in nutrition and proper hygiene is maintained. Inter sports is best where all IITs participate and compete.
Faculty: Professors and teaching assistant are highly qualified professionals having Ph.D. degrees from reputed institution. The way of teaching and explanation of concepts are beyond imagination. The course structured is designed in such a way that a student gets more practical knowledge rather than only bookish knowledge thanks to lots of labs and workshops.
Other: It's a IITM with rank 1 what do you expect. Crowd is productively competitive. Fest and all the events are mind blowing.

hi,

Yes, you can still get admission to aerospace engineering even if you didn’t score 75% in your polytechnic. Most colleges require around 50–60% minimum marks for lateral entry, not necessarily 75%. Eligibility depends on the specific university and entrance criteria. You may need to appear for a

With just JEE, you can't get admission in IITs. You have to appear for JEE advanced and then based on your performance, you'll get admission in IIT Madras. JEE main is for NITs. To get admission in IITs, you must appear for JEE Advanced.
