After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. IIT Guwahati JAM Cutoff 2026 has been released for Round 2, wherein the closing ranks ranged between 104 and 335 for the General AI category.
Candidates not eligible for IIT Guwahati can opt for IIT Bhubaneswar with a lenient second-round cutoff range of 116 and 835 for the same category and quota.

Opening and closing ranks for the IIT Guwahati cutoff depend on the category and quota of candidates. For the general category under All India, the opening and closing ranks for the CSE first-round admission 2026 were 277 and 582, respectively. For female-only (including Supernumerary) candidates, the first round opening and closing ranks were 1284 and 1962, respectively.

Candidates aiming for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) need to meet these cutoff marks in JEE Mains to be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026.
Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
IIT Guwahati offers admission to all its courses on the basis of both, merit and entrance scores. IIT Guwahati accepts national-level entrance exams. The college accepts JEE Main, JEE Advanced, CAT, IIT JAM, UCEED, CEED, GATE, etc. scores for admission to its courses.
For 2023, cut off was 5959 for General category candidates in All India quota for B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering in IIT Guwahati - Indian Institute of Technology. For female candidates in general category under All India quota, 11057 was the closing rank. B.Tech cut off varies depending on the category and domicile/quota of the applicant.
IIT Guwahati BTech cutoff 2024 has been released across multiple specialisations. Based on the Round 1 seat allotment, the BTech cutoff scores ranged between 607 and, 8400 for the General AII India category students. Among all the BTech specialisations, BTech in CSE is the most competitive specialisation. So, considering the round 1 cutoff, candidates seeking admission to Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati must secure a maximum rank upto 8400.
A detailed course-wise IIT Guwahati JEE Advanced cutoff 2024 is given below for the General category students under the AII India Quota.
To be considered for admission to UCEED 2025 participating institutes, the candidates need to meet the following conditions simultaneously:
- Age limit - The candidate needs to be born on or after October 1, 1999. For candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of five years.
- UCEED 2025 qualification - The candidate must have qualified in the UCEED 2025 entrance exam and must have been allocated a merit rank.
- Qualifying examination - The candidate must have passed all the subjects in the qualifying exam (10+2 or equivalent) in 2023 or should be appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2025.
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati B.Des admission is based on candidates' performance in the UCEED exam, followed by a councelling process. IIT Guwahati B.Des cutoff 2023 was concluded after Round 3 Seat Allotment Result. As per the IIT Guwahati cutoff 2023, the Round 1 and the Last Round closing ranks were 11 and 14, respectively for the ST category students. So, candidates seeking admisison to this institute must secure a rank between 10 and 15 to get a seat for B.Des.

Qualifying marks for JEE Mains 2026, also called qualifying percentile for JEE Mains will be announced by the NTA along with the JEE Main 2026 session 2 result. Candidates must note that qualifying percentile for JEE Mains 2026 is the minimum percentile required to appear in JEE Advanced 2026. For admission to NIT or IIITs, there is no provision of qualifying marks in JEE Mains 2026 and admission is given based on All India Rank in JEE Mains exam. NTA will announce JEE Mains 2026 All India rank in April after session 2 exam results.
According to the released infromation, Candidates interested in BDes admissions at IIT Guwahati must go through the UCEED exam which is conducted by IIT Bombay. A candidate can attempt UCEED for a maximum of two times.
Students must also pass all Class 12 exams with no minimum score requirements nor students have to give JEE Advanced.
Note: Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible.
