IIT Kharagpur MSc Eligibility & Highlights 2026
IIT Kharagpur also offers a Joint MSc-PhD course in eight specialisations. The course lasts for five-years, and admission to the same is based on IIT-JAM score, then an interview. Some of the key highlights around the IIT KGP MSc-PhD integrated programme, around its fee and seat intake for all specialisations, are as follows:
- Total fee: INR 51,755 (All students admitted to the Joint MSc-PhD are given a waiver of the tuition fee for the first two years of MSc)

It is through the JoSAA counseling process that admission is granted based on the rank obtained in the JEE Advanced. IIT Kharagpur students of MSc-PhD Joint programme are offered a few scholarships. The details for all these scholarships are as follows:
- Merit-cum-Means Scholarship of INR 1,000 per month is offered up to 25% of the students (for the first two years of MSc programme)
- Students not covered under the above point are paid a scholarship of INR 1000 per month for the first four semesters provided they give an undertaking to continue with the PhD programme
- A scholarship of INR 5000 per month for the first two years of MSc programme is paid to the students who join the PhD programme. The total amount will be released after the PhD registration
