GATE 2021 Cutoff

GATE cutoffs are known as minimum marks that a candidate needs to score for taking admission to MTech, MSc, and PhD courses offered by the GATE participating institutes. After the announcement of GATE 2021 result is announced, the exam conducting authority will release the qualifying cutoffs for all the GATE papers. However, the GATE participating institutes will have their own admission cutoff.

Q. Is there any change in the exam pattern of GATE 2021?

Q. Where can I find the official exam pattern of GATE?

A. The official GATE exam pattern 2021 has been released by the IIT Bombay on the official website to help students prepare for the exam.

Q. How many total number of questions are asked in the GATE exam?

A. Every GATE paper has a total of 65 questions.

Q. For rough work related to questions, will I be provided a paper?

A. Exam authority will provide a scribble pad to every candidate for rough work. The candidate has to return the scribble pad after the examination.

Q. Are students allowed to use a physical calculator during the examination?

A. During the online GATE 2021 examination, all candidates will be provided with an online virtual scientific calculator to be used to answer the questions.

Q. Is GATE scorecard available for download?

A. Yes. Candidates can download the scorecard from the official website soon after its release. The GATE admit card last date to download will be till a specified date.

Q. Till when we can download the GATE Scorecard?

A. GATE 2021 Scorecard last date is yet to be announced. Candidate can check the same here after the announcement.

Q. When will the GATE 2021 counselling start?

A. The exam authority does not have any common counselling process for GATE 2021. Candidates will need to apply separately for admissions in different institutions through COAP. It is expected that the counselling will begin in the month of April

Q. Is the analysis of GATE exams useful for preparing for next year?

A. Yes. With the help of exam analysis, candidates will know the question division and pattern.

Q. Which exam authority will conduct the counselling for GATE 2021?

A. There is no common counselling procedure for the GATE. Candidates will need to apply separately for admissions in different institutions through COAP (for IITs) and CCMT (for NITs, IIITs and CFTIs).

Candidates are offered seat in M.Tech based on GATE scores at NIT Goa. The seats are allotted via CCMT Counselling. In case the seats remain vacant, Non-GATE aspirants can also get admission by passing the written test conducted by the institute.

Yes, GATE qualified candidates will also have to appear for the PGET exam held on the scheduled date. The merit list will combine performance of both WBUT and GATE paper.
