The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay will announce the GATE 2021 result on March 22. The GATE result 2021 will be available online on the official website gate.iitb.ac.in and also on the GATE GOAPS login appsgate.iitb.ac.in. A direct link to download the GATE score card will be provided here. Candidates have to use their registration number/email ID and password to check the GATE 2021 result.
GATE result 2021 will have details about candidates’ score in the exam, all India rank, and cut off. Candidates obtaining marks equal to or above the required GATE 2021 cut off will be considered qualified and will be issued scorecards. Candidates have to download their GATE scorecards and keep its copy safe for M.Tech admissions and also for PSU recruitment through GATE. The scorecards of GATE 2021 will be valid for three years.

How to Check GATE 2021 Result
The link to check GATE results will be available on March 22 on the official website gate.iitb.ac.in. Candidates can also directly login to the GOAPS portal appsgate.iitb.ac.in to check their result after it is announced. Step by step guide to check GATE 2021 result is

Details about candidates score in the exam, all India rank, qualifying marks and other basic details will be mentioned in GATE result. Candidates obtaining the marks above the qualifying score should download their GATE scorecards and take a printout of them for future reference. Candidates must note that only those qualifying for the exam by securing marks above the GATE 2021 cut off will be issued scorecards.
GATE Score Card 2021
GATE scorecards are the official document certifying the qualification of candidates in the GATE exam. Only those candidates who secure mark above the GATE qualifying cutoff are issued scorecards. The validity of the GATE scorecard is 3 years from the date of declaration of result. Scorecards are used at the time of M.Tech admissions as well as for PSU recruitments through GATE. The scorecards are made available for download for a specific period of time without any cost. After the last date to download the scorecard, candidates have to pay Rs.500 as the fee for downloading their scorecards. It is thus advised that candidates download their scorecards and keep them safe.

GATE 2021 Result: How Marks are Calculated?
The performance of candidates in the GATE exam is evaluated by considering the marking scheme set by the exam conducting authorities. Each GATE paper is of 100 marks containing questions of 1 and 2 marks with 1/3 marks deducted for every incorrect answer.
For Single Session Papers:
For papers that are held in a single session, the marks of candidates is the actual score obtained after deducting the score of correct answers from the score of incorrect answers.

For Multiple Session Papers:
For GATE papers that are held in multiple sessions, the marks of candidates is the normalized marks by using a specifically developed formula. Normalization is done to do away with any possible parity in difficulty level of the exam which is held in multiple sessions.
GATE 2021 Result – How Scores are Calculated
The score of candidates in the GATE exam is calculated out of 1000 by using a specially developed formula. Admission of candidates in M.Tech courses and also the PSU recruitments are done on the basis of candidates score and not based on the actual marks obtained by the candidates. The formula which is used for calculating the GATE score is as follows
GATE Rank List 2021
The ranks of candidates are released along with the GATE result. Candidates will be able to check their position in the GATE rank list by logging in after the announcement of the result. The GATE authorities prepared one single, consolidated rank list for each subject and no category-wise rank lists are prepared. The rank of candidates is positioned on the basis of candidates marks in the GATE exam.
GATE 2021 Rank or Score?
Aspirants must not get confused between GATE rank and score. AIR 400 in the exam will get you in most of the IITs, while a score of 400 will get you to lower grade colleges. The GATE scorecard is valid for three years. Candidates can check good marks for top branches in the table below:

M.Tech Admission through GATE 2021
The process of M.Tech admission is done by different modes for various institutions. For admission in IITs, candidates have to register online at COAP 2021 while for M.Tech admission in NITs, candidates have to register online for CCMT 2021.
