GATE 2021 result is likely to be announced a few days before the scheduled date i.e. March 22. It is expected that the IIT Bombay will release the GATE result tentatively by March 18.

The final GATE 2021 answer key will also be released along with the result on the official site i.e. gate.iitb.ac.in. Scorecard of GATE will be made available to download only a few after the declaration of the result.
IIT Bombay released a total of 7,11,542 answer sheets of candidates who appeared for GATE 2021 on the official websites. A total of 8,82,684 candidates registered for the exam this year which is a little higher than the 8.59 lakh registrations of last year. One of the reasons for the rise was the introduction of two new courses in GATE 2021. Of the total, 2,88,379 female students registered for the exam which is 10,000 higher than the last year.
In an official notification, IIT Bombay stated that the scorecards will be available after the declaration GATE 2021 result on the GOAPS portal. The notification says, “In case, GATE qualified candidates require the soft copy of their GATE Scorecard after May 31 and till December 31, they MUST pay a fee of Rs 500 for obtaining the same. From January 1, 2022, onwards, no scorecard will be issued by GATE authority for GATE 2021 qualified candidates.” Hardcopy of the GATE scorecard will not be sent through courier or mail to any candidate. Students need to download and take a printout of their scorecard after the GATE result declaration.

Yes, GATE has negative marking for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. In GATE question paper, MCQs will be of one and two marks. Hence, the marking scheme for such questions can be checked below -

The PhD admissions to the Institute Assistantship courses at IIT Guwahati require candidates to appear for the GATE or CEED.
