A mock test is a practice test taken before the actual test. Attempting mock tests, based on the pattern of the GATE exam should form an integral part of your preparation because it tells you about your level of preparation. It also tells you the areas that need your attention. Taking mock tests helps you in evaluating the following.
- Will you be able to finish your paper in time
- Do you have time for revision
- Which new strategy is required to overcome your weak area
Mock tests help students by allowing them to revise the syllabus well before the real examinations.

Revision is the key to remember all that you have studied. Mock tests help students revise the entire syllabus in the simulated setting of the actual exam. This way they remember what they have learned and thus perform well on the final day.
