Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2026 ( JEE Main )
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is all set to conduct the second phase of JEE Main 2019 on April 7 (BArch), 8,9,10 and 12 (BTech). This time, 14,000 more students applied for the exam as compared to JEE Main 2019 exam held in January. Overall, around 9.54 lakh candidates registered for the first session of the exam.
NTA replaced the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) as the exam conducting authority. With this, JEE Main 2019 witnessed a few changes. For example, the exam is being held completely online twice a year, contrary to the last few years.

Difficulty Level
Most of the candidates who appeared for the first session of JEE Main 2019 shared that even though the exam was of moderate level, Mathematics was the toughest section followed by Physics and Chemistry. Subsequently, a lot of students found the 2018 paper easier than this year’s paper. Despite being difficult, Mathematics was the subject preferred by JEE Main toppers to score maximum marks in the exam considering the ranking parameters.

Class 12TH Syllabus
Even though the syllabus of JEE Main comprises topics and syllabus of Class 11 and 12, the January exam was essentially based on Class 12 curriculum. The toppers of the first session shared that the ratio was about 30% to 70% where the former was from Class 11th and the latter from Class 12th.
Questions From NCERT
NCERT was the ‘go-to’ book of many JEE Main aspirants this year. Experts shared that the Chemistry section of the exam was largely based on NCERT textbooks, like last few years. However, some of the questions in Physics and Chemistry too were NCERT based. But the number of such questions were low. Thus, do not skip glancing through NCERT books to score better in the exam.

Sample Papers & Previous Years Papers
A small chunk of questions in JEE Main 2019 January exam was based on the important concepts already asked in the exams conducted in the last 5 years. Solving sample papers and previous years’ JEE Main question paper would be of great help to candidates appearing for the second session of JEE Main 2019 being held from April 7 to 12. The practice will help candidates get acquainted with the type of questions and key concepts they can expect in the exam.
Percentile System
The National Testing Agency (NTA) introduced the Percentile system for the preparation of JEE Main merit list and declaration of ranks. The ranks for both the attempts will be published after taking into account better of the two NTA scores of all the candidates who have appeared for JEE Main 2019 exam in January and April.
Early Result Declaration
The exam conducting authority declared JEE Main January 2019 percentile score for all the subjects of Paper 1 on January 19, 2019. The results were expected to be out on January 31 but the same was released 10 days in advance. This time too, it’s been speculated that the agency might release the results a week or so in advance.
Currently, JEE Main 2019 April results are expected to be released on April 30. Thus, going by the last session’s trend, the results might be declared around April 19, 2019.
