Shiksha Poll: What will you change in your choice list after JoSAA 2025 mock allotments?

Q:   Can I revert to my previous seat after being allocated a higher-preference seat in JoSAA counselling?
A:

NO. Once you are allocated a seat of higher preference based on your float/slide option, your accepted seat from the earlier JoSAA counselling round will be automatically cancelled and you cannot get the previously allotted seat.

Q:   I have selected the freeze option in JoSAA counselling, but I want to change my allotted seat. Can I do so?
A:

No, choosing the option “Freeze” means that the candidate accepts the offered seat and indicates that the candidate is content with the allocated academic program and that the candidate does not want to participate in further rounds of seat allocation while retaining the same seat. Such candidates will NOT be considered in subsequent rounds of JoSAA (if any).

Q:   Can I change my option from float/slide to freeze in JoSAA counselling?
A:

Except in the last round of JoSAA seat allocation, you can change your option from float to slide/freeze and slide to freeze in the online portal.

Q:   Will my seat still be confirmed in JoSAA counselling if I do not pay my fee for an allocated seat?
A:

You MUST pay the seat acceptance fee and complete all the steps of the online reporting process in the same round of seat allocation for continuing with the JoSAA process to avail the seat in IITs or NIT+ system. Your allocated seat will be CANCELLED and you will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of seat allocation process (if any) if you do not complete all the steps of online reporting process including the payment of seat acceptance fee.

Q:   Will choice filling be available in every round of JoSAA counselling?
A:

No. You are only allowed to fill choices once before entering the first round of counselling and that choice list is final. Candidates are given only one chance to enter their choice, edit the choices, rearrange them before the choice filling deadline. All candidates have to save and lock their choices within the prescribed deadline. No more chances to fill.edit/rearrange the choices will be provided in the subsequent rounds of JoSAA counselling.

Q:   I saved my last filled choice list but I forgot to lock them before the JoSAA choice filling deadline. Will this affect the list of choices?
A:

If you do not lock your choices, last saved choices will be locked automatically upon reaching the deadline for JoSAA choice filling. The automatically locked choice list will be considered for allocating a seat during JoSAA.
