One of the foremost things to prepare for JEE Main 2020 Exam is to know the exact syllabus and exam pattern and chapter-wise weightage of the topics to be covered. The syllabus of JEE Mains entrance exam is too vast and is divided into three subjects, i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Math. So, here I am providing a topic-wise analysis of JEE Main syllabus of Paper-I and Paper-II and weightage of the subjects in the examination.
JEE Main Syllabus Paper-I
The syllabus of JEE Mains Paper-I can be divided into three parts i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Furthermore, the syllabus contains two Sections – A and B.
Section-A is theory with a weightage of 80 percent.

Section-B contains Practical Component (Experimental Skills) having 20 percent weightage.
JEE Main will be of a duration of three hours with 90 questions and a total of 360 marks. The test paper will be consisting of questions from physics chemistry and mathematics and all questions will have equal weightage.

- There will be only one correct answer for each question out of four responses given.
- One -fourth mark will be deducted for indicating the incorrect response of each question.
JEE Main 2020 Prep Tips
- Make a timetable according to the JEE Main 2020 syllabus.
- It is important to build your foundation strong. Basic concepts are more important. Do not jump into tough concepts without clearing your basics.
- Start your preparation with NCERT and then move on to the core subject books.

- Take JEE mock tests, time to time, to check your preparation. No.of mock tests play an important role in your real examination.
- Collect and solve previous years question papers to understand the level and pattern of the exam. Repeated questions and repeated models you may find in the examination, this is one of the advantages of old question papers.
- Managing time in any competitive exam is an art. Similarly coming to JEE, we should manage time by answering direct questions at first. By seeing the question we can answer easily like theory questions and choose the subject in which you are perfect.
Last-Week JEE Main Tips
- Don’t study any new topics.
- Revise important topics only. And revise formulas and theorems.
- Don’t increase your stress level. To overcome stress better do meditation for a few minutes.
- Analyse your Mocks again. And clarify your mistakes and doubts
- Don’t study for long hours.
- Sleep as early as possible and have a sound sleep
- Eat healthy food, take regular breakfast.
- Don’t study anything before and on exam day.
- Reach exam centre before an hour
- Arrange essential things like admit card, identification proof, pen pencil, etc.
JEE Main Syllabus of Paper-II
For admission to courses of B.Arch and BPlan, students will have to appear for Paper-II which consists of tests on maths, aptitude and drawing. Revision and practice is the key step for success. All the best for your exam preparation well and do well in the exam without tension.

The cutoffs for BTech admissions in the institute are not available as per official sources. However, according to data present on Shiksha page the 2025 closing rank for CSE branch was 1202618. Yes, JEE Mains has been listed as an accepted entrance exam for MIT Academy of Engineering BTech admission. The institute has also listed MHT-CET as its accepted entrance exam. Thus, candidates with a JEE Mains score can apply directly without appearing for MHT-CET.
