How MHT CET result 2026 is calculated?
The MHT CET entrance examination is conducted in multiple shifts on different days, which brings out the possibility of differences in the difficulty level of the question paper sets. Some candidates might end up appearing in the relatively tougher set of MHT CET 2026 question papers, whereas others have taken the easier ones. It leads to an obvious conclusion that the candidates who appeared in a tougher set of question papers will score fewer marks compared to the ones who attempted the easier set.
To ensure that candidates are neither benefited nor disadvantaged due to the difficulty level of the question paper sets, the Normalization method is used in calculating the MHT CET result. A similar method of calculating marks is also employed in several other major entrance examinations such as JEE Main. The MHT CET 2026 result will thus be a normalised score and will be prepared based on the candidate's normalisation formula given below.
The exam conducting authorities prepared percentile scores of candidates based on their relative performance in the MHT CET entrance exam. The marks secured by the candidates will be transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0. The percentile scores will reflect the percentage of candidates who have scored less than that particular score in the examination. The percentile score will be calculated up to 5 decimal points to minimum ties. With the help of the following formula, the Percentile Score of the candidate will be calculated.
