CLAT question paper will be based on five subjects, of which Logical Reasoning is one of the most important section. The Logical Reasoning section of CLAT Exam 2026 contains 28-32 passage-based multiple-choice questions (MCQs). CLAT Preparation 2026 for Logical Reasoning: Syllabus Highlights
The CLAT Logical Reasoning section 2026 holds 20 per cent weightage in the exam. Before talking about the techniques of attempting the questions, you must understand the major highlights of the Logical Reasoning syllabus for CLAT exam:
- The section will include short passages of about 300 words each
- Questions will be based on material sourced from opinion and editorial sections of newspapers and magazines such as ‘The Reverse Gear’ in The Economist, ‘History of Health’ by The Telegraph and ‘Where I Am’ by The Indian Express
- Questions will also be based on material sourced from essays on moral philosophy available online and in different books. For instance, ‘Ethics in the Real World’ by Peter Singer
- Some passages will also be created specifically for the exam
- Some of the important topics from the older format from which the questions would still be based include Blood Relations, Family Trees, Number Series, Alphabet Series, Logic Games, Syllogisms, etc.

Here are a few tips to consider while attempting questions from CLAT Logical Reasoning section:
- Identify the different premises and conclusions set out in the passage
- Try to determine if there is an overall theme, point or conclusion to the passage
- Some passages will have more than one point of view or arguments. Try to identify and separate these so that you can know what is the main conclusion or if there is any main conclusion in the passage
- Read each question carefully before determining the right answer
- Follow the instructions given in a question strictly and carefully
- In case, you are asked what a statement from the passage implies, you should first look at the statement and try to imply its meaning explicitly, and then should also try to determine what it may mean, without stating explicitly

No, GLA University, Mathura BA LLB (hons) admission is not based on CLAT-UG scores.
Candidates can only apply for this course by appearing in GLAET and following interview round.
There is no rule that allows candidates with valid CLAT-UG scores to skip GLAET and appear for PI round directly.
