The NIRF Law Ranking is one of the most awaited rankings for students planning to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes in India. NIRF Law Ranking 2026
The authority is expected to issue latest ranking of top law colleges soon. As per previous NIRF Rankings, National Law Universities (NLUs) have dominated their standing in top 10 positions. The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru has consistently been ranked as the top law college in India. It is then followed by National Law University, Delhi (NLU Delhi) and NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. The top five positions in the available NIRF ranking have been filled only by NLUs. Once released, the NIRF Law Ranking 2026 will provide the latest position and scores of participating law institutions.
IIT Kharagpur is the first non-NLU college in top 10. It got 6th position in last NIRF ranking. Symbiosis Law School, Pune is the best private law university in India. It is at position 7. Aligarh Muslim University, Siksha `O` Anusandhan, and Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, are other law schools in best 10 ranks of NIRF.

The NIRF Law ranking uses multiple parameters to evaluate participating institutions. The framework broadly considers five major areas:
1. Teaching, Learning & Resources
This parameter looks at the institution's teaching and learning environment and available academic resources.
2. Research and Professional Practice
Research output, professional practices and related academic contributions are considered under this parameter.
3. Graduation Outcomes
This component evaluates outcomes associated with students graduating from the institution.
4. Outreach and Inclusivity
NIRF also considers aspects related to outreach, inclusivity and the institution's broader student profile.
5. Perception
The perception of the institution among relevant academic and professional stakeholders forms another component of the ranking.

The CLAT syllabus is considered challenging due to its comprehensive, passage-based nature. Candidates will have to solve the questions within two hour time limit for 120 questions. The syllabus is tough and exam is difficult to crack.
The difficulty level of CLAT 2027 is considered to be moderate. The exam is conducted to assess candidates' ability to think critically and solve problems. There will be five sections.
