PSU Recruitment through CLAT 2026 is on the basis of the overall exam score of the candidate in the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 exam. CLAT was held on December 7, 2025 . The law entrance exam CLAT 2026 was conducted not only for admission to national law universities (NLUs) but also to give the candidates the chance to apply for jobs in various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). CLAT Result was announced on December 16, 2025. The PSUs are the organisations that are owned by the Government of India (GoI) or state government that operate like private businesses and share profits with their respective governments.

Every year, PSU Recruitment through CLAT LLM Score is held to fill in various position like Trainee Legal Advisor, Legal Executive Trainee, Assistant Legal Advisor and others. Candidates are then shortlisted through rounds of group discussions and interviews. Along with the PSUs, Indian Army also conducts recruitment for Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Department through CLAT score every year.

PSU Recruitment through CLAT 2026

The PSU job notification for CLAT 2026 is likely to be out soon. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Oil India Limited (OIL), National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) is likely to release the notification in the coming months. 

Q:   How will I know if I am eligible to appear in CLAT exam or not?
A:

In order to know if you are eligible or not check the official notification and the eligibility criteria. There is no other way to check the the eligibility criteria.  Do not fill the form without checking the eligibility criteria. 

Q:   Can I get NLU if my CLAT Rank is 1500?
A:

Yes, with a CLAT Rank of 1500, you have a very good chance of getting into several good NLUs. Some fo the NLU where your chances are high are NLIU Bhopal or NLU Jodhpur.

Q:   What if I am not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment?
A:

If the candidates is not satisfied with the CLAT seat allotment result, they can either accept or opt for upgradingt the college alloted. The Freeze option is used by candidates to confirm their choice of NLU. Apply for upgrade option is used when candidates want to change the allotted institute to his or her higher choice (upward shifting).

PSU Jobs through CLAT Cutoff Marks

CLAT 2026 scores is considered in many PSUs for recruitment. In order to get selected, candidates need to score more then the CLAT cutoff and also the cutoff/ score announced by each organisation for a vacancy. Candidates must note that the PSU recruitment through CLAT will be done on the basis of the score of the present year only. Candidates should also keep in mind that while most of the PSUs consider CLAT scores for direct recuritment some of them also use the scores for shortlisting the candidates. The shortlisted candidates will then have to appear in an interview, test or group discussion for the final recruitment. 

Q:   How many times I can appear for CLAT Exam?
A:

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time. 

Q:   Can I get admission in NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam?
A:

No you can not get admission to 24 participating NLUs without clearing CLAT Exam. For admission to NLU Delhi, you need to clear AILET Exam. 

Q:   How many merit list will be released by the Consortium?
A:

The Consortium will release atleast five merit list to complete the admission process through CLAT Score. However, the number of merit list might change in case of some discrepancy in answer key or result.

Types of PSUs hiring through CLAT 2026 score

PSUs in the country are categorised in four types based on parameters like listing in the Indian Stock Exchange, global presence, annual revenue, and income generated. Companies under different categories are given in the table below:

  • Maharatna

Companies that have an annual turnover of INR 20,000 crore on an average for three years and an average net worth of combined value of assets INR 10,000 crore will be called as maharatna company.

  • Navratna

CPSEs with a schedule A along with a Miniratna Category 1 status can be eligible for navratna, which gives power to the PSU to invest up to INR 1,000 crore without government approval.

  • Mini-Ratna

CPSEs that have made profits in the last three years continuously and have a positive net worth are eligible for miniratna grant status.

PSU Recruitment for Legal Advisors through CLAT

The exam conducting authority for CLAT 2026 is the National Law Universities (NLUs). Candidates must go through all the eligibility conditions prescribed by the authorities before applying for PSU recruitment through CLAT 2026. While qualifying CLAT is one of the eligibility conditions, there are various other requirements such as age limit, pass percentage of CGPA obtained during graduation, and others specified by the PSUs for recruitment of candidates.

PSUs need a strong legal team and the members of this team are selected on the basis of their CLAT 2026 merit list. 

What is the eligibility crtieris for PSU recruitment through CLAT 2026?

The eligibility criteria for every PSU is different. Candidates must fulfil all the eligibility conditions before recruitment into any PSUs. Some of the common eligibility conditions for PSU recruitment through CLAT are listed below:

  • LLB graduation; both 3-year LLB and 5-year LLB graduates
  • Must have qualified CLAT PG 2026
  • Age criteria as per the concerned PSU.

Is there any minimum age for PSU Recruitment through CLAT?

No, as such there is no minimum age for PSU Recruitment, however, every company have their own admission criteria. Candidates will mandatorily have to be law graduate.

What is an average salary for PSU companies?

The average salary of lawyers in PSU compaies ranges from 20,000 to 1 lakh depending on the post the candidate has been offered.

Is the PSU job good?

The best part of being employed in a PSU is a good decent salary. The salary may vary in different PSUs but it is comparable to or more than that being paid in the private sector along with job security which the private sector can never guarantee.
