In order to score more, you have to prepare the scoring topics and the less time-consuming topics like General Awareness and some of the chapters of Legal Aptitude. If your vocabulary is good then you can gain a competitive advantage in the paper, resulting in more time to solve extra questions.
CLAT is one of the least popular exams among the students. Last year, only 50k students registered for the exam and only 42-44k students appeared for this exam. Among these, very few thousand students will get the chance to get into the NLUs. So let’s see how can one get into these colleges.
Explore colleges based on CLAT
Firstly, go for good study material. Every book is a good book but the thing is only if you understand the content of the book then only it is good for you. Opt for that material through which you can easily learn things. If you want to join any private tuition then you can but remember that in the month just before the scheduled exam, you end up wasting most of the time travelling and relaxing. So for the last month’s preparation, I’ll advise you to opt for self-study and smart study.
The CLAT paper mainly comprises of 4 broad categories:
- English
- Legal Aptitude
- Quantitative Aptitude
- General Awareness
Each category comprises of 50 questions and you will be given 120 minutes or 2 hrs for solving all the questions. From this, you can calculate how much time you will take to solve one question. According to last year’s result, AIR 1 scorer secured 125 marks.
So in order to score more, you have to prepare the scoring topics and the less time-consuming topics like General Awareness and some of the chapters of Legal Aptitude. If your vocabulary is good then you can gain a competitive advantage in the paper, resulting in more time to solve extra questions. In the exam, if you are not able to solve any question in a single go, then you must leave it and proceed to the next one.
And yes, in the last month, you should build up the speed and for that, you have to give mock tests daily. According to me, you must take 2-3 tests daily in order to increase your speed and become capable enough to overcome the anxiety from sitting in one place for a couple of hours and also to become familiar with the exam environment. Plus analyse your test result, if you face most of the problems from a single topic, then clear your concepts of the same and try to avoid the mistakes in the upcoming mock test.
For last week’s tips, I’ll advise you to look and solve previous year questions. Not of all the years up till today but yes of the last 5 years. This will help you a lot in the exam.

No, you don't have to take the CLAT 2026 exam to get admission in Chandigarh University. Instead, you must take the university's own entrance examination, the CUCET (Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test), which is very simple to pass. The best thing is that if you score well in CUCET, you can

Yes, you can absolutely prepare for CLAT and UPES ULSAT together, as they share significant syllabus overlap (Legal/Logical Reasoning, GK, English, Quant), making integrated preparation efficient; focus on core areas for both but tailor extra practice for ULSAT's specific GK/current affairs and CLAT

There is no restriction as such for the CLAT exam. Thus, one can give CLAT any number of times they want to. Candidates should not feel bad if they are not able to clear the CLAT exam in first time.
