What is Group Discussion? 

Group discussion is held usually for 20-25 minutes which consists of eight (maximum) in a group. A particular topic is given to a group to discuss. Q:   What is IBSAT 2024 schedule?
A: 

IBSAT is a national level exam conducted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (deemed to be University) for admission to MBA/ PGPM courses. IBSAT 2024 registration will commence in first week of July 2024 and candidates will be able to register themselves on the official website at general.ibsindia.org. IBSAT scores are accepted by nine ICFAI Business Schools (IBS), namely IBS Hyderabad, IBS Mumbai, IBS Bengaluru, IBS Pune, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Jaipur, and IBS Dehradun. Tabulated below is the tentative IBSAT 2023 schedule:

Q:   How can I book my slots for IBSAT?
A: 

IBSAT 2026 slot booking window is open. Only registered candidates can book exam slot following below steps:

  1. Visit official website of IBS and login
  2. Click on tab ‘Schedule IBSAT’
  3. Click on tab ‘Book a seat’
  4. Enter the following details:
    • Test name
    • City
    • Date
    • Test centre name
    • Test centre address
  5. Select suitable exam timing
  6. Candidates will be given 1 minute to confirm
  7. Screen will now display candidate and examination details.
  8. Download IBSAT admit card.
Q:   When will be IBSAT selection rounds conducted?
A: 

IBSAT 2026 selection rounds will be conducted from second week of February 2027 at IBS Hyderabad. Candidates will be shortlisted for the IBSAT selection rounds based on their IBSAT, CAT, XAT, GMAT scores. 

IBSAT selection rounds will consist of two rounds- micro presentation and personal interview rounds. The final selection will be based on candidate's performance in past academics and selection rounds. Candidates must ensure to report at alloted exam centre on given date and time.

Q:   Which items are prohibited during IBSAT exam?
A: 

IBSAT 2026 exam will be conducted in online proctored mode. In this mode of examination candidates will be able to take the exam form their own laptops/desktops at their convenience. In such a case, no test taker shall be allowed to keep with him/her any book, study material, handwritten or printed notes, headphone, mobile phone, pager, earphone, digital diary, calculator, bluetooth device, laptop, palmtop, smart watch, health band or any other electronic device or gadget. Also, candidates are also not allowed to use pen/pencil and paper for the IBSAT online test. No person, other than the IBSAT registered candidate, shall be present for the test. Candidate should not talk to any one during the test or read questions / answers aloud. If found, such candidates will be disqualified.

Q:   What actions can lead to the disqualification of the candidate during the IBSAT online proctored examination?
A: 

If students are found not obeying rules of examination or trying to practice unfair means, they will be disqualified from the examination. The system will find any kind of unusual movements and will notify the online proctor for:

  1. Focus changed to a different window
  2. Browser not supported
  3. Webcam is disabled
  4. Face is not visible in the camera
  5. Several faces in front of the camera
  6. Face does not match the profile
  7. Microphone muted or its volume is low
  8. Conversation or noise in the background
  9. Screen activities are not shared
  10. Second display is used
  11. Full-screen mode is disabled

Have clarity of thoughts and expression 

Candidates must practice making keynotes on certain topics within 5 minutes to have a clear way of expressing thoughts and expression. Candidates must listen to the topic carefully to present points. Take more mock GD and get it assessed by experts. One should not get rigid in its opinion. It is important to listen to other candidates as well. What is a Personal Interview? 

The personal interview is conducted as one on one person I.e., candidates have to face the panelist and answer the questions for admission to B-shool. The panelist assesses the candidate’s ability on the basis of communication skills, confidence, verbal & non-verbal language, and so forth.  

How to Crack Personal Interview? 

Personal interviews can be more stressful than group discussions. The purpose of the personal interview is to assess the candidate’s personality traits. To ace the personal interview round candidates must note the important points: 

  1. Dress well for the interview 
  2. Don’t answer the question with incorrect knowledge, instead, reply ‘I don’t know’ politely. 
  3. Be polite throughout the interview. panelist creates stressful situations to assess the candidate’s patience and stress management skills 
  4. Candidates must minimise the opportunity cost. Try to play on strengths and drive the interview towards strength to establish confidence in yourself.  
  5. Stay calm and answer the questions while taking time to give them a thought.  
  6. Candidates must keep themselves updated with current events. 
  7. Know your strengths and weaknesses. 
  8. Candidates must know themselves and the reasons to join the programme. Try to relate the qualities with the programme one wants to pursue. 
  9. Give logical propositions. Back your answers with logic which will help to persuade the panelist (s).
