Candidates seeking admission to MBA/PGPM programme offered by IBS campuses must apply for IBSAT exam or through CAT/XAT/NMAT by GMAC and GMAT scores at ibsindia.org. What is IBSAT?

IBS Aptitude Test or IBSAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by IBS Hyderabad for admission to MBA/PGPM programs.  IBSAT scores are accepted by nine ICFAI Business Schools (IBS), namely IBS Hyderabad, IBS Mumbai, IBS Bengaluru, IBS Pune, IBS Gurgaon, IBS Kolkata, IBS Ahmedabad, IBS Jaipur, and IBS Dehradun. IBSAT is a two-hour Computer-based test (CBT) comprising multiple-choice questions. IBSAT is a computer-based test that is generally conducted over a window of two days in December. Qualified candidates will have to first attend a selection briefing round and then appear for the final selection rounds, including Micro Presentation and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

The difficulty level of IBSAT is moderately easy. IBSAT exam is easy in comparison to other MBA entrance examinations like CAT, MAT, or CMAT. ICFAI Business School Aptitue Test (IBSAT) is administered by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education for admission to MBA or PGPM programme. The courses are offered across nine campuses of IBS. Candidates seeking admission to IBS campus must appear for IBSAT exam or must have a valid score in any national level MBA entrance examination.

Q:   Is IBSAT compulsory for IBS Hyderabad?

IBSAT or IBS Aptitude Test is a national-level entrance exam conducted by ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (deemed to be University) for admission to MBA programme. However, it is not compulsory to appear for IBSAT. Candidates who have appeared for CAT/ NMAT/ GMAT/ XAT and scored well can also get admission to IBS Hyderabad MBA programme.

The first step of the admission process begins with filling the IBSAT 2025 application form. Candidates must fill the application form within the specified time, as there will be no provision for submitting the IBSAT 2025 application forms beyond the deadline. IBS aspirants can apply for the IBSAT 2025 exam online only. The application process starts with the creation of login ID and password and ends with payment of the application fee of INR 1800. IBSAT is conducted in multiple test cities across the country.  

IBSAT Eligibility Criteria 2025

 Candidates will be required to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for the IBSAT 2025 exam: 

  • Candidates should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in any discipline with a minimum 50 percent aggregate 
  • Candidates not meeting the eligibility criteria of English medium in graduation need to submit the TOEFL/ NELT/ IELTS score 
  • Applicants in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply  
  • Candidates with a valid score of GMAT, CAT and NMAT by GMAC need not appear for IBSAT and can apply for direct admission

IBSAT 2025 scorecard will be released on the official website. In order to check the scorecard and download IBSAT 2025 result, test-takers need to log in using the hall ticket number, registration number and date of birth. IBSAT 2025 cutoff will be released soon after the declaration of result. Candidates meeting the IBSAT cutoff 2025 will be shortlisted for the Micro presentation and personal interview rounds based on which final admissions will be granted to the students. Q:   When will be IBSAT selection rounds conducted?
A: 

IBSAT 2025 selection rounds will be conducted from second week of February 2026 at IBS Hyderabad. Candidates will be shortlisted for the IBSAT selection rounds based on their IBSAT, CAT, XAT, GMAT scores. 

IBSAT selection rounds will consist of two rounds- micro presentation and personal interview rounds. The final selection will be based on candidate's performance in past academics and selection rounds. Candidates must ensure to report at alloted exam centre on given date and time.

Q:   How is IBSAT final merit list prepared?
A: 

IBSAT final merit list is prepared on considering the following parameters- Micro Presentation, Personal Interview and past academic records and weightage. Check below to know the criterias:

  • Micro presentation: 25%
  • Personal Interview: 25%
  • Past academic record: 50%

Only candidates who will qualify the above criterias, will be offered final admission to MBA/PGDM programme of applied IBS campuses. IBSAT 2025 selection process result will be announced tentatively in April 2026.

Q:   How can I correct details in IBSAT admit card?

In case of any incorrect information or missing details in the IBSAT admit card, candidates must report at the IBS admission helpdesk immediately. Candidates can call at admission care or register their complaint by sending an email. IBSAT 2025 admit card will mention the details like- name of the candidate, registration number, category, date of birth, gender, programme details, date of exam, time, declaration and important guidelines for online exam. 

Q:   When will IBSAT admit card release?

IBSAT 2025 admit card will be released tentatively in October 2025. Registered candidates will be able to download the IBSAT admit card online. IBS will release the admit card along with the commencement of IBSAT 2025 slot booking. Soon after booking the IBSAT 2025 slot, candidates can download the admit card online at general.ibsinida.org.

Q:   Is there negative marking in IBSAT?
A: 

No, there is no negative marking in IBSAT exam. IBSAT question paper will consist of 140 question of one mark each. Candidates will given two hours to attempt 140 MCQs. For any incorrect answer or not attempted question, no mark will be dedcuted. In this scenerio, candidates must attempt all questions even if they are not sure of correct answer.
