Irrespective of the institute for MBA/PGDM admissions, candidates need to meet some basic NMAT eligibility conditions as mentioned below.
- Qualifying Examination: Candidates must hold a three-year graduation degree from a recognised institute/university
- Score in Qualifying Examination: Candidates must score a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in the final year of the bachelor degree.
- Age Limit: There is no age limit to apply for NMAT 2025.
Note: Candidates who are appearing in the final year examination of their graduation degree are also eligible for NMAT 2025. However, admissions to participating institutes will be provisional, subject to the fulfillment of the above-mentioned eligibility conditions.

Candidates can appear for NMAT exam three times during one admission session. GMAC considers the best of three scores to be sent to the NMAT participating institutes for admission. Candidates who wish to appear for more than one exam take have to fill the retake registration form. The retake registration can be filled after the candidate takes the first exam attempt. While filling the retake registration form, candidates have to pay the registration fee again. Additionally, candidates have to schedule the retake exam.
NMAT exam is conducted for admission to more than 45 b-schools in India. The exam eligibility criteria can vary from the eligibility criteria of a particular institute.
