NMIMS PI Preparation Tips

Some tips to prepare for NMIMS personal interview are as follows:

Prepare Your SOP Thoroughly

The AI interview heavily uses keywords and themes from your SOP. During NMIMS PI preparation candidates must revisit every point mentioned in their SOP. They must get ready to explain anything about their industry of work experience, role, learning outcomes, and career goals linked to MBA

Candidates who mention sustainability, analytics, branding, or leadership, can expect follow-up questions around the same.

Strengthen Current Affairs and Economic Awareness

As per the past experiences from the NMIMS shortlisted candidates, the personal interview typically has questions around:

  • Indian economy trends
  • Inflation and RBI policy
  • Global supply chain disruptions
  • Semiconductor industry and geopolitics
  • Impact of global recession on Indian businesses

Candidates must have a conceptual clarity of the above mentioned areas.

Practice Situational and Behavioural Questions

During an AI interview, candidates may find situational questions, like handling an underperforming team member, managing conflicts, adapting to unfamiliar environments. To answer such questions, candidates must describe a specific situation from the past, task, action, and the positive result or learning from the situation.

Prepare an Answer for ‘Why MBA’ and ‘Why NMIMS’

Why MBA or Why NMIMS is among the guaranteed questions in the panel round. While answering this question, candidates must include skill gaps they want to address, career trajectory, how NMIMS curriculum or exposure helps towards the goals, and what contribution one can make as a student.

Candidates must avoid generic answers like ‘career growth’ without context.

Strategise NMIMS PI Preparation

To perform well in the NMIMS PI round, candidates must be able to convey how the course will help them grow with their past experience, be it full-time work experience or internships. Candidates with no work experience must focus on internships and academic projects. Whereas, those with work-experience should be able explain their industry roles and the specific skills they aim to gain with the NMIMS MBA course. Candidates must also deep dive into the domain of their work experience, including the current industry challenges.

While answering questions during the NMIMS PI round, candidates must maintain consistency with the answers and their SOP to build trust.

In case of any mistakes, candidates must learn to stay calm and correct themselves. Interviewers will notice mistakes and evaluate how you deal with the same.

Yes, candidates can prepare for NMAY exam in one month by planning a focused approach. Practice the free NMAT question paper, analyse your weak areas, and divide your time to cover one section per week, leaving the final week for revision

Divide your six months into three focused phases. Allot three months to thoroughly cover the NMAT syllabus. Dedicate two months to practice a minimum of 30 mock tests, and use the final month to revise formulas and concepts
