Dropping a year doesn’t make you sure that you are going to qualify for the exam. Be confident about your decision. If you are confident enough to qualify then go for it. Your education matters more than colleges.
You can get the best teachers in a private college and it may be possible that you will get a Government college where teachers are not up to the marks then the college selection decision will fail. So take your decision wisely.
Explore colleges based on CAT
I can provide you with the names of the top colleges where you can get a better education such as one of my favorites, Lovely Professional University. This university is rich in terms of innovations, inventions and experiments. Here, if you are searching for a career in engineering and management then definitely I will suggest you go for it. The placement packages here are unbeatable in north India. Here you will get a wide range of courses, over 250 courses are being offered and all are affiliated with UGC.
I am studying here getting practical exposure here. If you have to apply for this university and want a good scholarship then apply through LPUNEST. The second college I would suggest is SRM, here you will get a good exposure in engineering, for admission you have to apply for SRMJEE. There are some colleges in south India such as VIT, Reva University, Christ University, and MIT, etc., which are worth it. You can visit their websites respectively for the process of applying because different courses have different modes of application.
Now I will tell you the advantages and disadvantages of taking a drop:
Advantages
- It will boost your preparation by means of improvement and can fix loopholes too. It may be possible that a student was not able to cover all the topics in a year. So, such students can take a gap.
- Those who are taking a gap have a targeted future.
Disadvantages
- You are wasting your time without knowing the consequences.
- Peer pressure will also affect your performance.
- At times, you can feel discouraged, depressed, and bored, etc.
