For last-minute preparation, I would suggest you to kindly go through the last month's current issue and last week's news that will help you to gain the stint of the current knowledge and for the reasoning section focussing on the mock test will be more than enough.

Debbarma suggests certain tips to the aspiring students who are seeking admissions in the good B-Schools of the country.

The points are listed below:

  • According to CMAT curriculum 2020, I would like to suggest is that kindly brush up the formula quickly of what you had been learned already and never try to focus or divert time in the new topics which you haven’t learned before as this will make you more confuse and may forget even the learned concepts.
  • The time is also a constraint thus practice mock tests as much as you can so that it will enhance you as well as make you aware of where you lack and thus it will make you manage your time effectively and efficiently.
  • For General Awareness and Logical section, I would like to draw your attention that this is the section that you can score more marks thus don’t ignore this section and do attempt this section first before the quantitative if it is possible.
  • For last-minute preparation, I would suggest you to kindly go through the last month's current issue and last week's news that will help you to gain the stint of the current knowledge and for the reasoning section focussing on the mock test will be more than enough.
  • Before the day of the exam, you should at least attempt a minimum of three mock tests as it will enhance in time management as well in grasping the knowledge and also always remember to analyse the mock test as it will let you know about your lacking section.
  • Quick tips as a part of the suggestion kindly reach the venue before time and keep the mind fresh so that there won’t be any haze in the mind and it will make you think properly. And don’t forget to get proper sleep a day before the exam to keep you relax.
  • Also most important in CMAT exam as there is a penalty for every wrong answer thus never select the answer instantly as the answer that tempts fast in our mind may be a wrong answer thus while answering any questions try to eliminate the wrong answers first as it will yield you with the correct answers at last.
  • To get a good score to remember the most important that is never focus on a section that you feel harder as it will consume your more time and leads you to lack of time to attempt the other section that is much easier thus attempt the section first.
  • Last but not the least try not to panic in the exam hall and keep the brain cool as much as possible and also most importantly try to go through the questions as an overall that will give an idea of the level of questions and you may attempt the section that you feel easier and go through all the question will maximum take you only 60 seconds.

I wish you all the very best of luck and give the best & rest be assured.

While CMAT is the primary route, RGPV may occasionally admit based on merit in graduation if seats remain vacant after all CMAT-qualified candidates are placed through College Level Counselling.

MAT and CMAT both are moderately difficulty exam, but have their own challenges. While, CMAT has one extra section Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MAT has a separate section for Data Interpretation having 30 questions. With focused preparation, you can crack either of the two that you choose.

CMAT cutoff refers to minimum percentile required for admission to a particular college. Score accepting colleges determine the cut offs individually based on certain parameters. CMAT cut offs for top colleges like JBIMS, SIMSREE, PUMBA are generally 99 percentile and above.

CMAT total marks is 400. It is usually considered that scoring 270 to 300 marks can convert into good percentile, about 99 percentile. Around 200 marks can get you 90 percentile which is also good if you are targeting private colleges.

There is no passing mark in CMAT exam, as admission is based on cut offs determined by colleges. A candidate scoring more than 0 in CMAT is eligible for admission will be selected only if they meet minimum cut off.

No, GIM Goa does not accept CMAT scores for its PGDM programs for admissions. It only accepts CAT or XAT exam score. CAT score of previous year is accepted and XAT score of current year is accepted.
