Studying smart rather than studying hard is an effective preparation strategy for any competitive examination. Read to know which chapters to focus on in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology to score good marks in NEET 2022.
NEET is a consolidated, national-level entrance examination for students wishing to get admission in medical courses like MBBS and BDS. Over 15 lakh aspirants appeared for the pen and paper-based exam in 2021, vying for a limited number of seats. There is no point in guessing that the competition is cut-throat, and getting into top medical colleges of your choice is not an easy task. The vast NEET syllabus that needs to be covered in each of the three subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Biology, takes the difficulty a step ahead. Taking a look at the exam pattern we find out that the candidate needs to solve 180 questions out of 200 questions in 180 minutes, precisely having less than one minute for each question. Thus, speed and accuracy are to be maintained while taking NEET 2022. Thus, a practical study plan should be created, i.e. one that distributes the time devoted to each topic in accordance with the weightage of that topic.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern
According to the NEET 2022 exam pattern, the examinee is required to fill the OMR sheet to record their response. The exam structure was changed last year wherein each subject was divided into two sections, carrying 35 and 15 questions respectively. Out of the 15 questions in section B, candidates need to answer 10 questions. The test will comprise 200 questions in total out of which 180 questions have to be solved within three hours. The subject-wise breakup is as follows:
The following table indicates the sections of the NEET 2022 exam pattern along with the number of questions and distribution of marks.

| Botany Section A | 35 | 140 |
| Botany Section B | 15 | 40 |
| Zoology Section A | 35 | 140 |
| Zoology Section B | 15 | 40 |

Most Important Chapters for NEET 2022 Biology
As the exam pattern suggests, Biology holds the maximum weightage out of all three subjects. Therefore, it's essential to have a stronghold on it to increase your score. Biology is majorly theoretical, which makes it necessary to keep revising so you won’t forget the key concepts. Although you should have a clear understanding of all the chapters, some chapters are more important from the exam point of view. Every year, these are the chapters that constitute a major portion of questions in the NEET exams. The Biology section of the test is divided into two subsections - Botany and Zoology.
Botany: 45 out of 50 questions

Most Important Chapters for NEET 2022 Physics
Physics proves to be somewhat problematic for the majority of students. The reason is that it is not straightforward; you just can’t use a formula and get the answer. It is important to have clear concepts and then be able to apply them in questions. Solving questions in physics helps you to get the real feel of the subject. NCERT and H.C Verma are great books, providing a variety of numerical to work on.
- Mechanics: System of Particle & Rigid Body, Laws of Motion, Kinematics, Waves, Work, Energy and Power, Mechanics of Solids and Fluids
- Heat and Thermodynamics: Thermodynamics, Thermal Properties of Matter
- Optics & Modern Physics: Ray optics, Wave optics, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Semiconductor Electronics
- Electricity & Magnetism: Current Electricity, Moving Charges and Magnetism, Electric Charges and Fields, Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance
Most Important Chapters for 2022 Chemistry
Chemistry is the most scoring subject out of the three subjects. Make sure to keep all the formulas and reactions for inorganic chemistry and organic chemistry handy. For physical chemistry practising plenty of numerical is the key.
- Organic Chemistry: Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Hydrocarbons and their substituent’s, Alcohol, phenols and ethers, Aldehydes, Ketones, and Carboxylic Acids
- Inorganic Chemistry: s-block Elements, p-block elements, d- and f-Block Elements, Coordination compound, Chemical Bonding, and Molecular Structure
- Physical Chemistry: Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Solid State, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical Kinetics
Revising and practising the above-mentioned chapters repeatedly could be beneficial for your performance in the NEET 2022 exam. But keep in mind; you cannot ignore other chapters at any cost. To maximise your score, you need to devote a suitable time to all chapters. Although, scoring well in NEET may seem like a herculean task, with the correct planning it's quite achievable. Be sure to make a realistic timetable and more importantly stick to it. Consistency is pertinent when preparing for competitive exams; never break the flow. Practice timed sample papers and mock tests as managing time during an exam are important. You might know all the questions but might not get enough time to attempt them all.
