BSEB Class 12 (Intermediate) Results Expected Next Week; Topper Verification Underway After Past Exam Scandals
The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) is set to release the Class 12 (BSEB Intermediate) results by the end of March, with topper interviews already underway as part of the final verification process. Over 12.92 lakh students who appeared for the exams are eagerly awaiting the results, which will be available on the official websites biharboardonline.bihar.gov.in and results.biharboardonline.com once declared.
According to a senior BSEB official, the evaluation process is complete, and the topper interviews have begun. However, an official confirmation regarding the exact result date is still awaited. Meanwhile, the Class 10 (Matriculation) results are expected in the first week of April.
Why Does BSEB Conduct Topper Interviews?
The toppers' interview is a key part of BSEB’s verification process, introduced after multiple past controversies over fraudulent rankings and fake toppers. Each shortlisted topper undergoes rigorous questioning by 13–14 examiners, answering 30–40 subject-based questions along with basic English queries. Additionally, handwriting verification is conducted to detect any discrepancies. If inconsistencies are found, the topper’s ranking is revised.
This strict verification was implemented following previous scams, including the infamous Ruby Roy case, where a student mistakenly referred to "Political Science" as "Practical Science" in an interview, raising serious doubts about Bihar Board’s credibility.
Past Trends Indicate Result Timeline
Looking at previous years’ trends, the Bihar Board has consistently announced Class 12 results within 30–41 days after exams concluded:
2024: Exams ended on Feb 12, results on March 23 (40 days)
2023: Exams ended on Feb 11, results on March 21 (38 days)
2022: Exams ended on Feb 14, results on March 16 (30 days)
2021: Exams ended on Feb 13, results on March 26 (41 days)
Going by this pattern, students can expect the Bihar Board Class 12 results by the last week of March. Once declared, students will need their roll codes and roll numbers to access their scorecards online.
With the final stage of verification in progress, BSEB is ensuring transparency and credibility in the evaluation process. Students are advised to stay updated through the official website for the latest announcements.
