BSEB 10th Preparation Tips 2026

Divide the syllabus into two parts: easy and difficult. Stick to easy subjects/topics and try to get full marks in those topics. This will lift help you make up the marks which you will lose in the subjects you find difficult.
Most importantly, don't give up on the papers and topics which appear difficult to you. Rather than starting everything from scratch, refer to the previous years' question papers & find out the most important chapters. Focus on the lessons here and be thorough with them.
Group learning may be helpful for some students, while others find focus only when they study alone. Find out which method suits you. Take a break every 30 minutes to refresh your mind if you are studying alone. Have group discussions too. In case the group is not able to clarify your doubts, do not hesitate to contact your teachers.
Buy a book of past years' question papers or download them from the official website of the Bihar Board, which will help you to understand the examination structure and maintain focus on the important chapters. It also helps in revision.
Break down the syllabus into parts and make a daily study routine to allocate specific time for certain subjects, but do not compromise on your time to play because it is equally important for a healthy body and mind.
Write important formulae in your notebook and go through it before the examination. Keep revising them whenever you find a moment. Prepare short notes of everything for all exams to quickly read whenever possible. This is better than carrying heavy books around to memorise the formulae.
Develop a habit of reading the question first and understanding its requirement before attempting to answer it. Read the entire question paper before attempting to write answers. Many times, you know the answer, but due to anxiety, you get confused and either you skip questions or attempt them incorrectly. To avoid this, compose yourself and read the questions carefully. First, attempt those questions that you know the best and be aware of writing the correct question number.
Emphasize the points. Provide an explanation for each answer with diagrams. Ensure the diagrams are neat and that no corrections have been made. This creates a very good impression. It reflects that you know your concepts and have understood the answer perfectly. Secondly, full marks can be obtained for a neat format, which is not possible even if one writes an accurate answer.
Take enough sleep and drink ample water before you sit in the examination hall. Bring your own pencil box with sufficient stationery. Keep the admit card and a bottle of water with you. Report to your centre at least half an hour before the exam starts.
