UP Board Exam 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) reported significant violations during the UP Board Class 10, 12 exams 2025 held on February 24, 2025. A total of nine students were caught using unfair means, while 14 dummy candidates were detected across various districts in Uttar Pradesh. The exams were conducted in two shifts, with the Class 10 Hindi paper and Class 12 Military Science paper held in shift 1, and the Class 10 Healthcare paper and Class 12 Hindi paper in shift 2.
Total Candidates Appearing for UP Board Exams 2025
According to UPMSP officials, 48,76,219 candidates appeared for the exams on day 1, with 24,74,862 students appearing for the first shift and 24,01,357 for the second shift. The total number of registrations for the UP Board exams 2025 exceeded 51.49 lakh students, highlighting the significant scale of this year’s examination process.
Details of Unfair Means and Dummy Candidates Detected
During the first shift of the Class 10 exam, six students were caught using unfair means in Farrukhabad district, while one student was caught in Pratapgarh district. In the second shift of the Intermediate exams, one student each was caught in Bijnor and Mirzapur districts.

Additionally, UPMSP officials found 14 dummy candidates in various districts. These candidates were impersonating the registered examinees, and the fraud was detected during the examination process. Dummy candidates were caught in the following districts:
- Farrukhabad (6 candidates)
- Ghazipur (4 candidates)
- Kannauj, Jaunpur, Firozabad, and Pratapgarh (1 candidate each)
UP Board’s Stand on Action Against Unfair Practices
UPMSP has clarified that no criminal action will be taken against the students found using unfair means, as per the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024. The act allows the students to be exempted from criminal liability to protect their future academic prospects. However, students involved in unfair practices will not have their answer sheets evaluated, and their results will be declared according to the prescribed norms.
UPMSP Secretary Bhagwati Singh reminded the education department that the strictest action will be taken under the provisions of the Act against anyone other than the examinees found violating the rules. This includes individuals involved in aiding the use of unfair means or impersonating candidates.
