UP Board 10th Preparation Tips 2026
Here are some useful and effective UP Board 10th exam preparation tips to boost your overall exam preparation for the upcoming board exams:
- Go for planned preparation- have a daily, weekly routine
The first thing to do for exam preparation is to chalk out a plan. Chart out a time table for preparation and set a daily routine with weekly achievable goals.
- Break Down the preparation into easy goals
Each subject in the Class 10 Board exams may seem like a Herculean task when looked at together. Don’t fret! Break down the syllabus and subjects into easy-to-achieve goals and work towards achieving them regularly. Not only will it help students complete the syllabus but it will also make one more confident as the exams approach.
- Take breaks
We have all heard the saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!”, and this is indeed true. While one may want to spend all the time preparing for the exams, it helps a great deal if one takes short relaxation breaks between your preparations to give the mind some rest. Alternate quick breaks between subjects or between chapters of the same subject.
- Focus on the basic concepts of Mathematics and Science
Concepts are very important before appearing for any exam. This is particularly important for subjects like Mathematics & Science which are filled with many concepts on different topics. Get the fundamentals of important concepts right before sitting down to solve questions, papers or sums.
- Practice makes perfect
Another routine proverb but very true for subjects like mathematics & problems that appear in science. Develop the practice of writing down answers while solving questions as this helps in getting better at solving questions. Also, it keeps a tab on handwriting, which needs to be good in order to score well.
- Figure out the strong and weak areas
Every student has a subject that he/she is very good at or grasps it easily. One needs to identify the subject he/she is strong at and master it well. Once that has been handled, it is time to gain a better understanding of the not-so-strong subjects and spend more time trying to better yourself at it. It may sound difficult but with ample time and practice, students should be able to get a hold of any subject he/she may be weak in.
- Keep enough time for revision before each exam
It is important that students complete studying all that is important from the exam point. However, a one-time read is never enough. So, while charting out the time-table, keep enough time towards the end for revisions.
- Have a good mix of subjects during preparations
It is not possible for any student to study one subject for a long stretch. Thus, it is a good idea to alternate one subject with the other. This also helps one to cover the syllabus faster.
- Remember formats and formulae
Letter writing and essay writing in English need to be written well in order to score in them. They have set formats and these need to be remembered. The format for writing a formal and an informal letter is different and students need to remember these for their exam. Similarly, in order to solve mathematics problems, one needs to remember the various formulae and derivations of some concepts. It would be a battle lost if one is unable to recollect the formulae needed to solve a particular problem. It is a good idea to understand how the formulae have been derived or practice writing them down in order to recollect better.
- Solve as many MCQs and mathematics problems as possible
MCQs and short answer questions are common in English and Social Sciences. Doing as many of them as possible will improve the memory and help one remember answers during exams.
After memorizing the formulae, the next thing to do is to use them in solving problems. The more one practices, the more easily one will be able to remember the formulae and how to use them in different types of math problems.
