The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur and the Indian Navy have joined hands to advance technology, foster innovation, and encourage collaborative research and development efforts by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This significant agreement was signed at the Naval Headquarters located in New Delhi, marking a pivotal moment in the partnership between these two esteemed institutions.
This partnership is designed to promote mutual benefits, where academia can contribute cutting-edge research and technological advancements, while the military provides practical insights and applications, thereby enhancing the development and exchange of knowledge between these two spheres.
The signatories of this MoU were Rear Admiral K Srinivas, who serves as the Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refit) at the Naval Headquarters, and Professor (Ms) Rintu Banerjee, who is the Dean of Research and Development at IIT Kharagpur. This event was witnessed by Professor Virendra Kumar Tiwari, the Director of IIT Kharagpur, highlighting the importance of this collaboration and the mutual dedication to technological progress and innovation.
