SLAT 2027 Exam: Dates, Notification (Soon), Question Papers

Both the exams, SLAT & CLAT are based on the 10+2 level syllabus and candidates may find both the exams' difficulty on the same level. The syllabus for both the exam also stands on a similar page and the exams consist of questions from Logical and legal reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, & General Knowledge. A total of 4 colleges, including SLS Nagpur, SLS Noida, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Pune, accept the SLAT exam. Candidates need to pass the SLAT exam, PI and What to get admission to one of the four colleges that accept SLAT scores. The weightage for SLAT PI and What will be considered for admission to Symbiosis Law College. The weight of the SLAT entrance test will be 50 marks. The weights of PI and What will be 30 marks and 20 marks, respectively.

SLAT refers to the Symbiosis Law Admission Test which is conducted by the four SLSs (Symbiosis Law Schools) in India. 

Symbiosis International University offers BA LLB (Hons. ), BBA LLB (Hons. ), BA LLB, and BBA LLB at its four law schools, which are Symbiosis Law School Pune, Symbiosis Law School Nagpur, Symbiosis Law School Noida, and Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad. Symbiosis Law School Pune offers BA LLB (Hons. ) and BBA LLB (Hons. ) through SLAT. Symbiosis Law School, Noida, offers BA LLB and BBA LLB. The law courses offered by Symbiosis Law School Hyderabad and Symbiosis Law School Nagpur are BA LLB and BBA LLB. Candidates who secure marks equal to or higher than the SLAT cutoff in a particular year can apply to study these mentioned law courses in the same year.

SLAT exam authority uses University Grants Commission (UGC) guidelines for SLAT reservation policy. As per the exam authority, the total percentage of reserved seats for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates is 15. The total percentage of seats reserved for Scheduled Tries candidates in SLAT is 7.5%. The exam authority has reserved 5% of seats for wards of Defence Personnel at Symbiosis Law School Pune. The reservation facility for wards of Defence personnel is not available at the other three Symbiosis Law Schools. Moreover, 3% of total seats are reserved for Different Able candidates in all SLSs through SLAT.

 

No, candidates cannot fill out the application form offline. The exam authority for the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) releases the SLAT application form online only. SLAT is conducted for all candidates from different Indian states. It is difficult for the exam authority to make the exam form available to everyone at different physical centres. Thus, to allow all the exam aspirants to access the SLAT application form, the exam authority makes it available online on the official website of Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET), set-test.org. A candidate desirous of submitting his candidate to select UG programmes is also required to complete the payment process for the desired programme before the losing date for payment of the same. For the past 2-3 years, the syllabus of SLAT has been the same. However, there is a guarantee that the SET exam authority will not make any changes to the SLAT syllabus in the future. Thus, if the exam authority changes the SLAT syllabus, candidates will be able to know about those changes by visiting the SET website. No. SLAT admit card will not be sent through email or post. Candidates will be able to access the CG PPT admit card online. The authorities will not use any other mode to release the admit card of SLAT. 

SLAT admit card 2027 will be released after the registration process ends. 

The candidates will have to print the SLAT admit card on the A4 size paper. The admit card will have important details such as candidate's photograph and signature along with exam centre details. Carry a valid ID proof to the exam hall for identity verification. 

Candidates need to carry a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre along with a coloured printout of their SLAT admit card. This photo ID proof can be an Aadhaar Card, voter ID, PAN Card, driving licence, or passport. Aadhaar Card and Voter ID are the best photo ID proofs that can help Indian citizens verify their identity. The SLAT results for all SLSs are released at the same time. Here, all candidates must be aware that all SLSs simultaneously announce the SLAT exam results for Tests 1 and Test 2. The results mention details like the names and roll numbers of candidates, as well as the marks and percentages obtained by them. SLAT results for a particular year are only valid for admissions accepted to SLSs in the same academic year.

The same processes are followed for admission to SLS Pune, SLS Nagpur, SLS Hyderabad, and SLS Noida after the release of the SLAT entrance exam. First of all, candidates will have to take a Written Ability Test (WAT) online. Then, they will have to appear in an online Personal Interview (PI). Once What and PI are completed, SLAT merit lists are released. After this, the admission process for 5-year LLB courses starts. In the context of SLAT results, PI refers to Personal Interaction or Personal Interview which is conducted after the Written Ability Test (What) round of the SLAT exam. In PI questions are asked to evaluate the overall personality of candidates and their aspirations as future lawyers. These questions carry a weightage of 30 (equal to 30%). Only those who qualify for the SLAT exam and What are eligible to appear in the SLAT PI. The questions of SLAT PI are of the behavioural category generally and associated with fundamental concepts of law. Interviewers in SLAT PI also ask why they want to study at Symbiosis Law School (which can also be specific to a particular SLS) and their strengths and weaknesses.

SLAT does not occur twice a year, but it takes place on two consecutive dates within the same session. Candidates have the option to appear in either or both. The best attempt from the two will be considered to prepare the merit list. 

The Symbiosis Internation Law University has discontinued Writing Ability Test from the SLAT Admission Process. For the current SLAT 2026 admissions cycle, and since the 2025 cycle, the selection process is based solely on a candidate's performance in the main SLAT entrance exam and a subsequent Personal Interview (PI) round. 

No, you will not be called for the Personal Interview (PI) round for Symbiosis Law Schools if you haven't cleared the SLAT exam. Candidates must note that SLAT scores are mandatory for shortlisting. You need to score above the cut-off to get a PI call, and you must attend all parts of the PI to be eligible for admission. 

Each SLS has released its schedule to conduct the Personal Interview. The University will conduct the Personal Interview online. Candidates must check the schedule as each SLS has its own dates.
