Commonly asked questions
Q:   What are the documents that I need to carry to the SLAT exam centre along with the SALT 2026 admit card?
A:

Candidates must carry one photo identity proof to the SLAT exam hall. You will not be allowed to enter without it. Also, carry a water bottle.

Q:   How can I get a printout of the SLAT admit card?
A:

To get a printout of the SLAT admit card, candidates first have to download the admit card and save it to their devices. After saving the SLAT admit card on their devices, they can connect these devices to a printer and print coloured copies of the admit card. The printouts should be clear, so that all details mentioned on the admit card can be seen easily. Candidates with a blurred or unclear copy of their SLAT admit card will not be allowed to take the SLAT entrance exam. Moreover, only a coloured copy of the SLAT admit card will be accepted by the exam authority. The black and white prinout of the admit card is not accepted at the SLAT exam centres. All candidates who apply for SLAT and are going to take the exam must carry 3 or 4 copies of a colour printout of their SLAT admit card. This strategy will be helpful in the case, when candidates lose one of the copies of the respective admit card or the admit card gets destroyed for some reason. All copies of the SLAT admit card must have a passport size photograph pasted on them. Candidates should note that mobile phones are not permitted at the centres, and they should carry a hardcopy, I. e. a colour printout of the SLAT admit card on an A4 size sheet.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   When will SLAT 2026 admit card release?
A:

The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) authority conducts SLAT in two slots (on two different days) as SLAT Test 1 and SLAT Test 2. Admit cards for two different tests of SLAT are released separately on the official website of SET - slat-test.org

SLAT 2026 Test 1 Admit CardDecember 18, 2025

Candidates can download their admit card for SLAT 2026 before the exam as per the mentioned dates. They need to note that the SLAT admit card is not released in offline mode.

Q:   Which documents do I need to carry to the exam centre along with my SLAT admit card?
A:
Candidates need to carry a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre along with a coloured printout of their SLAT admit card. This photo ID proof can be an Aadhaar Card, voter ID, PAN Card, driving licence, or passport. The reason for which the exam supervising authority asks candidates to carry their photo ID proof is that they want to ensure their identity. Aadhaar Card and Voter ID are the best photo ID proofs that can help Indian citizens verify their identity. Thus, it is advised to all SLAT exam takers that they must carry one of the two photo ID proofs to the SLAT exam centre. The photo ID proof should be original because photocopies or printouts of ID proofs are not accepted by the exam authority. The ID proof will only be used to recognise the candidates. It will not be submitted by the authority.

SLAT 2026 Important FAQs

Candidates can check important FAQs related to SLAT 2026 below

Q&A Icon
Commonly asked questions
Q:   Which subjects should I study to crack SLAT?
A:

The important topics for the different sections of the SLAT exam are different. The important topics are Reading Comprehension, Synonyms, Antonyms, Foreign Words/Phrase, International events, UN bodies, Major developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics, and important environmental agreements, Current affairs, Eminent personalities, Sports, and Awards and honours. The important topics related to the SLAT Legal Reasoning section are Legal terms, Indian Constitution and its structure, sections and schedules, Contracts and Constitutional Law, Torts, Vicarious Liability, Contracts and Constitutional Law, IPC and the CrPC, Strict Liability, Law of Crimes, International Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Legal Awareness covering Constitutional Law and Politics.

Q:   Can I get the question paper PDF of SLAT for free?
A:

Candidates cannot get SLAT question papers of previous years for free because the conduction body of SLAT, the Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) authority, does not release previous years’ question papers of the exam. The questions relevant to SLAT question papers can be found in books designed for the SLAT syllabus. Candidates need to focus more on topics related to the SLAT syllabus to prepare for this law entrance exam. The syllabus includes topics associated with Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, General English, and General Knowledge.

Q:   When should I start preparing for SLAT?
A:

There is no maximum time limit to start preparation. Candidates can start preparing for the SLAT exam any time when they decide to sit for it. You can refer to previous year papers for the exam overview.

Q:   Is one month sufficient for solving SLAT practise sets?
A:

The number of SLAT practise sets depends on the number of practise sets an aspirant solves. If you want to solve fewer practise sets, then one month is enough to practise them. However, if you want to solve 30–40 practise sets of SLAT, then you need 2-3 months to do so. This much time will allow you to solve one practise set multiple times. As a result, you will learn about almost all the important concepts and topics from which questions are asked in the SLAT exam. Aspirants preparing for the SLAT also need to know the SLAT syllabus and practise topics related to it to score well in the entrance exam.

A score of 30 in SLAT 2026 is kind of average, not too high or too low. It depends on the SLAT cut off 2026 for each Symbiosis Law School (SLS). For SLS Pune or Noida, cut off usually goes higher. But for SLS Hyderabad or Nagpur, 30 might still work fine if the SLAT merit list 2026 allows.

No, there is no extra fee for SLS slot booking. Once you pay the SLAT 2026 application fee, the slot booking part is free. You only need to log in on the official website and choose your date and time for the PI round. The system confirms it without asking for any more payment.

No, SLAT 2026 gives you only one attempt in a year. You can't take the test twice in the same admission cycle. The score from that single attempt is used for admission to all Symbiosis Law Schools. If you want to try again, you can apply next year when the new SLAT exam opens.

No, once your SLS slot booking is confirmed, you can't change it again. The SLAT 2026 slot booking system locks your choice right after you submit. So you must check the date and time carefully before confirming. If there's any serious issue, you can contact the SIU helpdesk for support.
