Overview

NEET Application Form 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) invited NEET UG 2026 registrations from February 8 to March 11, 2026. Candidates got around 33 days to register and apply online for the exam. The application process comprised various stages, including registrations at neet.nta.nic.in, filling the online form, uploading the documents and paying the application fees. As per the data shared by the NTA, over 22.79 lakh candidates registered for the NEET 2026 exam.

The NTA provided a one-time facility for candidates to make corrections or changes to the online form. The NEET correction window 2026 was available from March 12 to 14, 2026. The NTA announced the NEET 2026 registration date through the information bulletin.

1. NEET Registration 2026

Candidates needed to take the NEET registration using the process shared below-

  • Visit the NTA NEET website- www.neet.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the New Candidate Register Here tab and read the instructions.
  • Enter the given details on the registration form-
    • Candidate’s Name
    • Mother’s name
    • Father’s name
    • Date of birth
    • Category
    • Gender
    • Nationality
    • Persons with Disability
    • Identification Type
    • Identification Number

  • Submit the form and save the autogenerated application number. 

2. Fill NEET Application Form 2026

  • To fill the NEET form, go to the login window.
  • Enter the application number and password to login.
  • Fill out the application form with the details shared below-
    • Personal details

    • APAAR ID for NEET 2026
    • Choice of Medium of Question Paper
    • Selection of exam city
    • Parents'/Guardians' Occupation and Qualification
    • Academic Details
    • Emergency Contact Details
  • Check all the details carefully as they cannot be changed after the final submission of the NTA NEET 2026 application form, except for a few fields.
  • To submit the duly checked application form, click on “Yes, please do” on the confirmation pop-up.

3. Capture Live Photo & Upload documents on NEET Form

  • Capture the live photo as per the notified guidelines.
  • Click on upload your recent documents.
  • Select the files to be uploaded.
  • Click on “Next”.

4. Pay NEET Application Fees

Pay the NEET form fees through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net banking/ UPI and submit and save the confirmation page.

How to Capture Live Photo?

The NTA introduced the live photo capture on the NEET UG 2026 form. While uploading the documents, candidates first needed to capture their live photos and then attach the other required documents. Candidates need to ensure that they follow the NTA NEET guidelines for live photo capture otherwise their form may get rejected. Candidates need to use the process given below to capture live photos-

  • Switch on the cameras or connect the webcam to the device used for filling the NEET application form.
  • If the device does not support the webcam, then candidates need to scan the QR code on the right side of the form for the same.
  • There should be light-coloured background.
  • The NTA will match the captured live photo with the Aadhaar database.

Important Instructions While Filling NEET Application Form 2026

The NTA issued the NEET UG document advisory 2026 for candidates to update their documents before taking the NEET form fillup process. As per the NTA instructions, candidates were required to ensure that the given documents are updated and valid.

NEET Application Form Correction 2026

NTA opened the NEET application correction facility for the registered candidates. Only those candidates who submitted the NEET application form 2026 by paying the requisite application fee within the stipulated date were eligible to avail of the NEET application form correction facility. In case of retreiving the NEET application number, they have to enter their names, email address and the Security Pin and submit. Q:   I have the filled the NEET form, but it is showing that it's in process. What can I do?

Check whether you had completed the fill up process or not. If you had filled up and your application is complete then you must had application number. You can check from another device. You go to any internet cafe and give your application number password date of birth and required details and get your application form print out.
Q:   My father's name in Aadhar Card and 10th marksheet are a bit different. Is it necessary to get it corrected for NEET UG application?
A: 

Yes, it is necessary to correct your father's name in the Aadhaar card as per your Class 10 mark sheet before filling the NEET application form. Since the National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the notification mentioning the mandate of Aadhaar Card for the application process. NTA has stated, "Aspirants are advised to ensure that their Aadhaar details (especially their name and date of birth as per 10th passing certificate), including facial recognition data, are up to date for an optimal experience during registration process and verification processes. This can be done at the nearest Aadhaar Enrollment/Update Center." Also, this year, the Aadhaar number will be used to auto-fill the NEET application form to reduce manual errors. Hence, it is all the more important to correct personal and educational details in the Aadhaar Card before the application process commencement.

Compared to last year, the number of NEET 2025 applicants reduced. According to NTA, 22,09,318 candidates appeared for the exam. In the year 2024, 23,33,297 candidates had appeared.

Candidates need to complete the NEET application form in thirty minutes of logging in to the registered account. One should save the application form pages after completing them. Applicants should keep all the information ready before registering for the exam before the session expires.

The NTA conducts the NEET UG exam only once in a year. Candidates who want to appear for the exam to get admissions to medical, dental or allied courses should prepare well in advance. One year is a good time to prepare and crack the exam.
