CTET English Syllabus 2025: The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is a national-level exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to determine the eligibility of candidates as Primary (Classes 1 to 5) or Elementary (Classes 6 to 8) teachers. The CTET 2025 exam is organised based on guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The exam is conducted every year at two levels- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for teachers in Classes 1 to 5, and Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8. Candidates who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 need to appear for both papers. The CTET exam is conducted in a total of 20 languages. The CTET syllabus 2025 is prescribed by the CBSE after taking into consideration the NCTE guidelines.

In both papers, the English language is a common subject for those candidates who choose English as Language I or Language II. A total of 30 multiple choice questions (MCQs) are asked from the CTET English in Paper 1 and Paper 2 each. We have shared here the detailed CTET syllabus, exam pattern, topics and books for the English Pedagogy and language subject below, as prescribed by the CBSE.
