
CTET September 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will release the CTET 2026 pre-admit card around ten days prior to the examination date. The CTET admit card will be released around three or four days before the exam date for the September session. The 22nd edition of the CTET Exam 2026 is schedule to be conducted on September 6 at various centres across the country. The application correction dates were June 15 to 18, 2026. The CTET application form was released along with the notification on May 11. The last date to apply was June 10.
The CBSE CTET exam is a mandatory eligibility criterion for aspirants who want to apply for teacher recruitment in central government schools, such as KVS and NVS, for Classes 1 to 8.

What is CTET?
CTET is an eligibility exam conducted at the national level. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is the conducting body of the CTET exam. The CTET exam is conducted every year to determine the eligibility of students who want to become teachers in Central Government Schools, such as KVS and NVS, among others. There are two papers in the CTET- Paper 1 and Paper 2. The CTET Paper 1 is for students who want to teach Classes 1-5 (Primary Teachers), and Paper 2 is for candidates who want to teach Classes 6-8 (Elementary Teachers). Candidates who wish to teach Classes 1-8 need to take both papers. The CBSE has so far conducted 20 editions of the CTET exam. The CBSE CTET exam is conducted offline in pen-and-paper mode.

CTET 2026 Hall Ticket
The admit card will be issued a few days before the exam date by the CBSE on the official portal at ctet.nic.in. The hall ticket is important for a candidate to carry at the examination centre otherwise he or she will not be allowed to sit in the exam. Candidate should check it properly before downloading it. If any discrepancies occur in the call letter then it should be reported and addressed immediately. The Board will release the CTET answer key (provisional) and OMR response sheet online. Candidates who will not be satisfied with the answers can raise objection(s). The CBSE CTET exam 2026 result for the September session will be released as a scorecard with the marks obtained by candidates in the exam. CTET Certificate 2026: Validity
The CTET Certificate and Marksheet will be displayed on the Digilocker platform after the declaration of results shortly. The CTET certificate validity is for a lifetime. Only CTET-qualified candidates are awarded the eligibility certificates. Candidates qualifying the CTET exam can apply for teacher recruitment in Central schools or other schools accepting CTET scores at any point in time till they fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective recruiting agency or school. Yes, 120 marks in the CTET exam is a good score. However, candidates need to achieve the minimum qualifying marks to qualify the CTET exam. The minimum qualifying marks for the General candidates are 90 marks (60&) and for reserved categories 82 marks (55%). On the other hand, scoring in between 100 to 120 marks are typically considered a good score.
The CTET exam is valid for life time. Earlier, the CTET eligibility Certificate was valid for a period of seven years starting from the date of declaration of result. However, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and CBSE officially extended the CTET passing Certificate validity to lifetime. Candidates need to fulfil the age limit criteria fixed by the respective teacher recruiting body such as NVS, KVS or others. Therefore, candidates can apply for the teaching jobs after qualifying the Central Teacher Eligibility Test CTET however, they must fall within the age limit defined by the respective agency.
The CTET 2026 exam registration for the September session was started. The CBSE released the CTET application form link with the notification. Candidates need to apply online at ctet.nic.in. The last date to apply was June 10.
There are no fixed the highest marks in the CTET exam. The exam is of total 150 marks. Those who obtain over 120 marks are good scorers.
Candidates need to carry these documents to the CTET exam centre-
- CTET admit card.
- Original photo ID proof such as PAN Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, or Aadhaar Card.
- Passport size photograph.
- Ball-point pen of blue or black ink.
