CTET 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the short notice for the 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) exam on October 24, 2025. As per the official notice PDF, the CTET exam will be conducted on February 8, 2026 (Sunday). The CTET notification 2026 is expected shortly on the website- ctet.nic.in. The CTET application form 2026 will be released along with the official notification. Candidates should fulfil the prescribed CTET eligibility criteria 2026, including the age limit and educational qualification, to apply for the exam. The last date of the CTET registration will be mentioned in the notification.
Eligible candidates will have to register online and submit an online application form for the CTET 2026 exam. Candidates seeking recruitment as primary teachers or elementary teachers in Central Government schools need to appear for the CTET exam to obtain the eligibility certificate. The CTET qualifying marks are different for different categories. General category candidates need to obtain a minimum of 60 per cent or above marks in the CTET 2025 exam in order to be considered as a CTET pass. The CTET passing marks for OBC/SC/ST category candidates are 55 per cent. Candidates scoring more than or equal to the qualifying marks are considered CTET qualified. Only those candidates are awarded the CTET Certificate those who secure the minimum qualifying marks. However, a higher CTET score is advantageous in the further teacher recruitment process.

CTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfil the CTET 2026 eligibility criteria to appear for the exam. The CTET eligibility 2026 in terms of education qualification and age limit is shared below:
CTET Eligibility 2026: Paper 1
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given eligibility criteria for CTET Paper 1:
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam, securing a minimum of 45 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
- Bachelor’s degree with a BEd.
CTET Eligibility 2026: Paper 2
Candidates need to fulfil any one of the given eligibility criteria for CTET Paper 2:
- Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd. OR
- Graduation degree with 40 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in the final year exam of BEd, according to NCTE regulations. OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appearing in BEd program of 1-year duration.

CTET 2026 Application Form
