CTET 2020, scheduled to be conducted by CBSE on July 5, has been postponed due to COVID-19. The new CTET 2020 exam date will be announced later.Â
Giving a big relief for CTET 2020 aspirants, CBSE has postponed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). In an official notification released today, CBSE stated that the 14th edition of CTET July 2020 exam scheduled to be held non July 5 is postponed. The board further informed the candidates that the next date of CTET exam will be intimated when situation is more conducive for conduct of exams. The board has suggested candidates to keep visiting the official website of the exam (ctet.nic.in) regularly for all updates related to the exam. Â

Every year, over 20 lakh candidates aspiring to become teachers of Classes I-VIII sit for Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). With lakhs of candidates appearing for the exam from all over India, the risk of spreading the COVID-19 virus was extremely high. Although CBSE was planning to take all necessary measures to ensure all social distancing norms are followed on the day of the exam, it would have been difficult to separate candidates from containment and non-containment zones. Considering the risk, CBSE has postponed the CTET 2020 exam after consultation with the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). Â

CTET admit card 2020
Since the exam has been postponed, CTET admit card 2020 will not be released this week. The admit card will be released only after the new date fior the exam is announced by CBSE. When released, candidates can download the admit card from the official website - ctet.nic.in by logging into their registered accounts.Â
CTET exam dates 2020
Currently, the CTET 2020 exam stands cancelled. However, as and when conducted, the exam will be held in two shifts for paper-I and -II in 112 cities across India.
The CTET 2020 application form filling process ended on March 9. However, the registered candidates could pay the CTET application fee by March 17.Â
