Yes, candidate will have to participate in CUET UG counselling process even if they are class 12th topper. Candidates cannnot get direct admission to central universities without CUET. Class 12th marks are generally used for tie breaking criteria only.

Yes, candidates must have CUET UG score to apply for admissions at University of Delhi. Admission to UG courses of DU is offered through CUET UG scores. DU releases the CUET UG DU cut off for courses and colleges. Only candidates meeting the cut off criteria will be offered final admission to the desired course. 

The frequency of CUET counselling rounds is dependent on:

• Availability of seats
• Number of vacant seat after each round
• CUET cut-off 

CUET UG cut off will vary from course to course and universities. To know the cut off for CUET UG courses, candidates must stay updated with the notification released by the universities for admissions. As per the previous year analysis, candidates can expect the CUET UG cut off for various top courses under Arts, Commerce and Science as mentioned below:

The CUET UG cut off is determined by CUET participating universities seperately. Parameters on the basis of which CUET UG cut off is released are:

• Total number of candidates that appeared for the CUET UG exam
• The number of seats offered by the participating universities through CUET UG
• The difficulty level of the CUET exam
• Overall performance of the test takers (pass percentage/ score range, etc.)

CUET cut off is based on the percentile of the candidate. To calculate the CUET percentile following formula is applied:

100*Number of candidates appeared in the session with a raw score is equal to or less than a candidate/ total number of candidates appeared for CUET UG.

CUET UG counselling registration last date depends from university to university. Each participating university sets its own counselling registration deadlines. Therefore, candidates must stay updated with admission and cut off dates of universities they wish to apply to. Candidates are suggested to stay updated with CUET admission dates for individual universities to avoid missing deadlines.

CUET UG 2026 counselling process will commence in third week of June for top universities like Delhi University. Candidates must check the official admission portal of the desired university to apply for the counselling process. CUET counselling process 2026 is generally held in three stages:

Stage 1- Counselling registration

Stage 2- Choice filling

Stage 3- Seat allotment/ merit list

There are 44 central universities in India acceoting CUET UG scores. The list of central universities accepting CUET result are:

After obtaining the CUET results, candidates will be able to apply for CUET counselling for various participating universities. To apply for CUET UG counselling, candidates can follow the process below;

• Register for the CUET cousnelling process on official website of participating university
• Fill the CUET UG admission application form like CSAS UG for DU, BHU UET application form for BHU and so forth.
• Upload the CUET UG scorecard or enter the marks obtained in the eligible subjects
• Declaration of admission status/ CUET cut off
• Visit the university for verification of documents and pay the admission fee

The number of seats offered through CUET UG counselling is not certain, it is estimated to be approximately 10,000 seats. Seat availability depends on course and university that candidate has applied for. Candidates can check the university wise CUET counselling seats on its repective official website.

To appear for CUET UG counselling, candidates must have the following documents or information:

• CUET application number
• CUET hall ticket number
• CUET scorecard
• Class 10th and Class 12th marksheet

Candidates need to upload scanned copies of a few documents during the registration procedure. The documents must be in PDF / JPEG format. Below is the list of documents.

• Matriculation or its equivalent certificate.
• Class 12 mark sheet.
• Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and income certificate (SC/ST) issued by the appropriate authority.
• PwD Certificate (if applicable).
• BHU employee certificate (if applicable).
• Certificate of admission under sports quota is claimed.
• Scanned copy of a recent colour photograph & signature.

The National Testing Agency has not announced the result date for CUET UG 2027 exam. Once released, the scorecards will be shared on the official website, including details and marks of exam takers.

While filling the CUET application form, candidates are advised to carefully mark the subjects from languages, domain subjects and general test. Candidates must check the institute wise subject requirement for the course candidate wishes to apply for. If the candidate has applied for four CUET domain subjects and appears for three subjects, it may affect the overall percentile of the candidate. However, if the domain subjects for which the student has appeared, qualify as per the institute’s course requirement, they will be eligible for admission process.
