What is BCECE?

BCECE stands for Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. It is conducted by the BCECEB for admissions to Agriculture and Horticulture Science courses. The entrance exam is held in a pen-and-paper-based or offline mode. BCECE is held for 1 hour and 30 minutes or 90 minutes for each paper. There are separate question papers for BCECE, i.e. Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Agriculture. Each paper carries 100 questions. The total marks are 400. BCECE scores are also accepted for Nursing, Pharmacy and Paramedical courses. However, the pattern and syllabus vary.  Those who will be opting for the Medical courses have to opt for the PCB group. 

The BCECE 2026 exam will be conducted in a window of two days and multiple slots. Candidates opting for multiple papers or subjects will have to appear for the exam in multiple slots. The course and institute allotment will be done during the counselling process. Only those candidates who will qualify for the exam by securing the pass marks will be eligible for the counselling or admission process.

Q:   How many courses are offered under BCECE exam?

Students who completed their Class 12 Board exam and looking for the opportunity to pursue higher education are advised to appear in the BCECE exam. 

Candidates can apply to BSc, BSc nursing, pharmacy, and paramedical programmes through the BCECE exam. It is advised to check the eligibility criteria before filling the application form.

BCECE counselling 2026 is conducted online. The process involved in BCECE counselling is choice filling, seat allotment, document verification and reporting to the institutes. The eligible candidates must complete the choice filling process before the last date. A fresh registration for BCECE 2026 counselling is not required. Candidates must add the college and course list in the preference order.

BCECE 2026 Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

The board had released the BCECE eligibility criteria 2026 online. The eligibility criteria comprise education qualification, domicile, and age. The eligibility criteria are a minimum condition to appear for the BCECE entrance exam. Those who fulfil all conditions can apply for the BCECE 2026 exam. The eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

  • Candidates should pass the Class 12 Board exam or an equivalent exam. 
  • The candidates should have studied relevant science, mathematics, and agriculture subjects in the Class 12 Board exam with a minimum of 33 per cent in aggregate. 
  • The minimum age limit of candidates is 16 years as of August 31, 2026.
  • There is no upper age limit 

For engineering and medical courses, the eligibility criteria would be the same as for JEE Main and NEET, respectively.

BCECE 2026 Eligibility Criteria based on Domicile factors

Candidates should fulfil at least one of the following factors in terms of domicile or Bihar state nativity. 

  • Candidates should be permanent residents of Bihar.
  • Candidates' parents have Bihar refugee registration.
  • Candidates' parents live in different states, yet work for the Government of Bihar. 
  • Candidates' parents live in Bihar but work for the Government of India.

Q:   What is the time duration of BCECE Pharmacy exam?

There are three sections in the BCECE Pharmacy entrance exam and applicants are required to attempt each subject-wise section in 90 minutes, respectively, and the total duration of the exam was four and a half hours. BCECE 2026 Pattern, Syllabus and Preparation

BCECEB has released BCECE exam pattern online. The exam pattern helps to know the marking scheme, mode of exam, duration of test and more. Knowing the exam pattern it becomes easy to plan the preparation strategy.

BCECE 2026 Syllabus

The BCECE 2026 syllabus has been released by BCECEB along with the notification and information brochure of the exam. It is expected that the syllabus of BCECE 2026 will remain unchanged from that of the previous years. The BCECE syllabus is in line with Class 11 and Class 12. It has subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, and Agricultural subjects. Students preparing for the BCECE 2026 entrance exam are advised to prepare from their school textbooks. BCECE aspirants are advised to solve previous years paramedical question papers. The BCECE patamedical exam carries a total of three subjects, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The number of questions asked in the exam is 100. 

Q:   What is the marking scheme of BCECE exam?

The marking scheme of the BCECE is explained below.

  • Each paper will carry 100 questions and there will be four marks per question

The BCECE admit card 2026 was available online. Students were able to download their BCECE admit card online. They had to provide their registration number and password to access the admit card. Candidates appearing for the entrance exam should be careful of a few things on the exam day.

  • They should report at the exam centre as allotted to them at least an hour or 15 minutes before the exam timings as mentioned below.

BCECE 2026 Question Paper

The BCECE exam is conducted in a paper-pencil-based mode. Candidates are given the BCECE question paper after the test. The medium of the question papers is English and Hindi. Students have to select the language of the question paper during the application process. Separate question papers will be given for each subject. Aspirants who plan to appear for the exam next year can also collect the previous years' BCECE question papers and sample papers for practice purposes. The exam authorities generally release the question papers officially after the admission process concludes. Last year's question papers are yet to be released online.

The BCECE answer key refers to the correct answer options for each question. Based on the answer keys, candidates can calculate their scores. The exam authorities do not release the answer keys of BCECE. It may be released by coaching institute experts after the exam is over. There might be differences between the correct answers of the BCECE exam and those released by coaching institute experts. Since the official BCECE answer keys are not released, there is no scope for submitting objections. Students will get their scores directly with the results. Q:   Is it necessary to participate in BCECE Pharmacy counselling?
A: 

BCECE Pharmacy counselling is conducted to shortlist candidates for admission to BPharma and DPharma programmes. It is mandatory for the candidates to apply for the BCECE exam counselling to seek admission to the top pharmacy colleges of Bihar. Hence, those who want to take admission must attend counselling.

Q:   I am not a resident of Bihar. Can I apply for the paramedical course through BCECE?
A: 

No. Only those candidates who are domiciled in Bihar are eligible to apply for the BCECE paramedical entrance exam. Candidates can refer to the BCECE paramedical eligibility criteria to get detailed information about the courses and admissions.

Q:   How many institutes accept BCECE scores?
A: 

The BCECE scores are accepted by the Agricultural and Medical institutes located in Bihar for multiple disciplines. The total number of institutes is approximately 90. Majority of the institutes accepting the scores of BCECE are for the Pharmacy, Paramedical and Nursing courses. For the Agricultural courses, around 35 colleges accept the scores of BCECE.

To prepare for BCECE exam students first need to complete class 12th syllabus of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. After that read the syllabus from standard books. One must solve previous year question papers while following a strict time table. At last on must solve question paper as per real time basis.   

Q:   How many seats are there under BCECE participating colleges for BSc nursing programme?

Students appearing in BCECE must note about the number of seats in colleges. There are 180 seats in three colleges that accept the BCECE score for admission to BCs nursing programme. (60 seats in each college). All the students who want to take admission should prepare for the exam accordingly to take admission to their desired college.

BCECE 2026 admit card date was May 22, 2026. Registered candidates can download their admit card through the online application portal.

The official website for the BCECE admit card is bceceboard.bihar.gov.in. Students can downoad the admit card online. The last date to download the BCECE admit card was May 31, 2026.  They have to use their BCECE login credentials to access the admit card.

BCECE syllabus is based on Bihar State Board / NCERT Class 11 & 12 topics. So, it is best to focus on academic books, class notes to prepare for the test.
