CTET is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in order to shortlist candidates to be appointed as teachers. Candidates who have qualified Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) are eligible to teach Class I to Class VIII. A point to note here is that it is not necessary that any candidate who clears CTET exam would be hired as a teacher at a school. CTET is simply a qualifying exam, after clearing this exam candidates need to apply for teaching job posts at respective schools and thereafter go through the independent shortlisting criteria of that specific school to be hired as a teacher.
