BTech admission 2026 at DTU is ongoing. The University offers a four-year full-time BTech course across multiple specialisations. Admission to this course is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main entrance exam, followed by JAC Delhi counselling for seat allotment.

DTU BTech Highlights 2026
Selection criteria: DTU admission to the BTech course is based on JEE Main rank, followed by JAC Delhi counselling. Meeting the minimum eligibility criteria is also mandatory.
Specialisations: BTech is offered in 14 different specialisations, including CSE, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Production & Industrial Engineering, etc.
Eligibility: The minimum eligibility requirement is to pass Class 10+2 from a recognised board or university, with a minimum aggregate of 60% in PCM. The age limit is between 17 and 25 years (as of October 1 of the admission year).
Fees: DTU BTech fees range from INR 5.8 lakh (BTech Lateral Entry) to INR 8 lakh (Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical, etc). This includes the tuition fee and other components, such as hostel, mess, student welfare, facilities & service charges, economically weaker section, examination fees and medical insurance, etc will be charged separately to students.
Cutoff: During the DTU cutoff 2026 for admission to the BTech course, the last round closing ranks for JEE Main ranged between 7060 and 25303, with the lowest closing rank being 7060 for Computer Science and Engineering. The least competitive BTech branch for admission was Biotechnology.
Placement: As per the 2025 placement report for BTech, the highest domestic package offered was INR 85 LPA. For the ECE branch, the highest package offered was INR 15.82 LPA.
Ranking: The NIRF 2026 ranking is still awaited; however, in 2025, DTU was ranked 30th in the 'Engineering' category by the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).

DTU fees for BTech is comprised of several fee components such as tuition fee, hostel fee, one-time payments and other fees. The tuition fee and hostel fee are charged on per semester basis in eight instalments.
Every year, JAC decides the Delhi Technological University BTech fees structure, along with all other policies such as refunds upon admission cancellation, concession for special categories, scholarships and more. DTU BTech fees will be refunded based on UGC norms for eligible candidates who choose to cancel their admission. The tuition fee for the BTech Lateral course is INR 5.77 lakh. With a tuition fee of INR INR 7.99 lakh, candidates can get Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, IT, etc. The total course fees ranged from INR 5.77L to INR 7.99L for admission to the BTech programme.

The application process for all the courses offered via DTU is completely online. Candidates seeking admission must apply via the following websites:

An admitted candidate can withdraw his/her admission during the counselling period by submitting online request through JAC Delhi portal on or before last
date of withdrawal mentioned in counselling schedule.
a) If the candidate withdraws his/her admission on or before the last date of counselling schedule, his Seat Acceptance Fee (INR 95,000) will be refunded without interest after deducting INR1000 as processing charge.
b) Fee refunds for all withdrawals will be processed within 20 days after last date of withdrawal
The selection of the candidates at DTU for MBA admission will be made on the basis of one or more of the following:
- Work experience
- Academic performance
- Personal interview

- Mark sheet of Class 12 or equivalent.
- Marksheet of Class 10
- Bonus point document (s), if eligible for IIIT-Delhi bonus point.
- Reserved category / sub-category Certificates.

i. A certificate of physical disability issued by the Competent Authority
ii. The Candidate with benchmark disabilities shall produce the medical certificate
iii. A certificate, duly recommended by any of the Vocational Rehabilitation Centres for the handicapped, including Vocational Rehabilitation Centre
iv. Persons with Dyslexic disability can also apply under PD category - Defence (CW) sub-category, candidate needs to submit all the documents
- Kashmiri Migrant (KM) candidates must upload/submit all the documents

DTU BTech Admission & Application Process 2026
DTU BTech admissions are strictly based on JEE Main ranks through the centralised JAC Delhi counselling, which generally starts in late May or early June each year after the NTA declares the final JEE Main results. Once a seat is allotted, candidates need to go through a document verification process on the college campus and pay the academic fee. This year, a total of 4 regular rounds, 1 upgradation round and 1 online spot round for JAC Delhi. The DTU BTech application process is conducted in online mode. The steps mentioned below show the complete DTU admission process for the BTech course.
STEP 1: Register for JEE Main
For admission to the flagship course BTech, candidates must register online for JEE Main. The step-wise process to fill out the JEE Main application is given below:
- Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in 2026
- Select the Registration for JEE Main 2026 Session 1 link
- Fill the JEE Main 2026 registration form with the required information, and create a passport photo of your choice.
- Pay the JEE Main application fee of INR 1,000 (for male candidates).
- Click on the submit button.
STEP 2: Appear in the Exam & Register For JAC Delhi Counselling
After successful registration, download the JEE Main admit card and appear in the entrance exam to apply for BTech admission at Delhi Technological University. Eligible candidates with a valid score are then required to register for JAC Delhi counselling by paying the fee of INR 1,500.
STEP 3: Upload Scanned Documents
Candidates have to upload the scanned documents in the online application form. The scanned documents must be in the format indicated as per JAC Delhi. Some of the documents required for verification are given below:
- Receipt of payment of the Seat Acceptance Fee.
- Online Registration Form, duly signed by both the candidate and parent/guardian.
- Printout of the filled choices (generated after the closure of the registration process).
- Three recent passport-size photographs.
- Printout of the JEE (Main) Admit Card and Score Card.
- Mark sheet of the qualifying examination, i.e., Class XII or equivalent examination.
- Candidates must also produce the Class 12 Board Examination Admit Card.
- Printout of the Seat Allotment Letter downloaded from the counselling portal.
- Date of Birth Certificate, as recorded in the Class X (High School) or equivalent examination certificate.
- Valid Category/Sub-category Certificate, if applicable.
STEP 4: Seat Allocation & Admission Confirmation
After the counselling, the seat allotment results will be released round-wise with the option to freeze, float, or withdraw. In case candidates accept the seat, they are required to pay some amount of the course fee to confirm their seat.

Usually, the cutoff for DTU stays around 90, even for the reserved categories. Therefore, getting into B.Tech courses at DTU is difficult with a JEE Main percentile score of 90 or below. The cutoff also goes high and low every year, depending on the following factors:
- Number of aspirants registered
- The difficulty level of the exam
- Total number of seats available
- Total number of applications received for a particular program
- Category under which admission is sought

Delhi Technological University BTech admissions are ongoing for academic year 2026.
Spot round counselling is scheduled to continue until July 31st this year. JAC will release the result of spot rounds in August first week for all candidates.
Candidates who cancel the enrolment after paying the tuition fee before the semester has started. In that case, DTU will refund the tuition fee. Further, if candidate withdrawl their enrolment after paying the tuition fee, and the semester has started. In that case, DTU will not refund the tuition fee except in cases of exceptional unforeseen circumstances mentioned below:
- failure to meet the admission requirements
- lack of residence permit, e.g., if SIRI rejects your application for a residence permit
- pregnancy
Each case will be treated individually. The candidate who belongs to these case are required to submit written documentation before reimbursement can take place. When applying for a refund, candidates are required to enter full name, CPR (if relevant), reasons, and documentation for cancelling your studies. Candidates must also provide their relevant bank details (account number, SWIFT/IBAN codes) for this purpose.

The total seat intake for BTech admission at DTU across multiple branches is 2826. Allocation of BTech seats to all specialisations is done during JAC Counselling based on JEE Main. The Joint Admission Committee (JAC) is also responsible for deciding the BTech seat matrix of Delhi Technological University. JAC Delhi reserves seats for SC/ST, OBC and EWS, among other categories, for BTech and other courses.

Log into your DTU Student Portal dashboard at dtu.samarth.edu.in, click on the "Examination" tab, and select "History / Grade Card". From there, you can view and download your verified semester grade sheets.
