The online course that can be completed in eight weeks requires learners to have basic knowledge of computer architecture, organisation and networking. Interested students can enroll for the course before August 23, 2021.
IIT Kharagpur has invited applications from undergraduate and postgraduate students for a free online course on cloud computing. The course is being offered on the NPTEL platform and carries two credit points. It can be completed in eight weeks and requires learners to have basic knowledge of computer architecture, organisation, and networking. Learners can get certificates by paying Rs 1,000 after clearing an exam, which is scheduled to be conducted on October 23, 2021.
Students can enrol for the course using SWAYAM platform before August 23, 2021. The course will be conducted from August 23 to October 15, 2021. It will help participants understand various aspects of cloud computing, including fundamentals, management issues, security challenges and future research trends. The following are some of the topics that will be covered as part of the course:
- Introduction to cloud computing
- Cloud computing architecture
- Service management in cloud computing
- Data management in cloud computing
- Resource management in cloud
- Cloud security
- Open source and commercial clouds, and cloud simulator
- Research trend in cloud computing, and fog computing.
NPTEL began offering open online courses in March 2014 along with certificates from the IITs/IISc for those who completed the courses successfully. It is now possible for anyone outside the IIT system to be able to do an online certification course from NPTEL and get a certificate from the IITs.
