A similar pattern change and trend was seen in NID Entrance Exam for UG admissions this year, which means that students need to prepare across all sections and must have a calm composure and thereafter quickly adapt to any new pattern thrown at them in design entrance exams.

A total of 10 questions were asked from General Knowledge. For the General Knowledge and Current Affairs section questions were asked like:

  • Who is the brand ambassador for Grado?
  • Who is the nightingale of India (Sarojini Naidu)?
  • The Rani ki Vav appears on the bank of which currency note?
  • Where are the elephanta caves located?
  • A Question was also asked on the Lakme fashion week

The Quantitative Ability saw questions like:

  • Work-wages
  • Ratio and proportion
  • Profit and loss
  • Averages etc.

The Communication Ability had regular questions from topics such as:

  • Antonyms and synonyms
  • Idioms
  • Phrases

The Reading Comprehension had questions on:

  • Statements and arguments
  • Statement and conclusion
  • Assertion and reasoning

Analytical Ability had questions from topics like:

  • Coding decoding
  • Seating arrangements
  • Series and sequences
  • Blood relations

Overall, NIFT GAT was pretty standard and nothing new was asked, the NIFT CAT had an interesting twist to it but creative writing and essays was an easy adaptation and students would not have found the change difficult to cope with.

Unlike the CEED and NID PG exams where the students literally have no time to breath, the NIFT CAT had plenty of time and students were comfortably able to finish their paper with ample time to present their work well and add in all the details they wanted.

There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.
