UCEED Entrance Exam is conducted today, on January 18, 2026 for B.Des programme.
UCEED 2026 exam was easy. Product design was easy. GK questions were from logos, paintings, and textiles. More questions were from the Mathematics side. One question was there on Chatgpt logo. Most of the students found the exam easy.
There was a sketching question to draw on the basis of a dog's perspective.
Expected Cutoff: UCEED 2026 cut off is expected to be higher this time. Cut off range will be from 80-100.

The important topics for UCEED 2026 Part B are given below.
- Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
- Design Aptitude Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.
If you consider the question paper of UCEED 2026, then the exam can be considered to be moderately difficult. For instance, of the 68 questions asked, around 18 questions fall in the moderate category, 18 in the moderate to difficult category, while the rest can be tagged easy to moderate.
In contrast, NIFT and NID DAT are considered to be tougher. This is because in NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective and drawing-related questions. Consequently, the candidate needs to be very creative and have strong fundamentals to answer the questions. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage.
UCEED 2026 question paper included a total of 59 questions. The section-wise questions asked in Part A was: NAT (14), MSQs (15), and MCQs (28). Part B included a solitary Drawing-based question. The section-wise difficulty level of UCEED 2026 is given below.

Given that UCEED is one of the most important and the toughest design entrance exams in the country, one should not wait till the last moments to prepare for the exam. Ideally, the candidate should have at least an year to prepare for the exam. That being said, if the candidate has above average understand of the basics, he or she can easily prepare for the exam in six months. When preparing for the exam, it is important to have a target in mind. For example, the merit rank the candidate wants to achieve. Note that the cut-off rank varies from one institute to another.
IIT Bombay usually doesn’t conduct any mock tests for the UCEED exam. So, the candidate may take mock tests conducted for other entrance exams to prepare for UCEED 2026 exam. The candidate may note that in this case the mocks will help them understand how an online exam is administered and the navigation process. However, it is not an exact replica of how the UCEED 2026 exam will be conducted.
The mock tests are to be taken in the last few weeks before the UCEED exam. Avoid taking mock tests when you are starting preparation for the exam.
The official mock tests for the UCEED exam are usually taken in the last few days leading up to the exam.
So, you can take 3-4 mock tests. The purpose of the mock tests are to help you get familiar with the exam ambience, the question paper structure, and the navigation process.
Unofficial mock tests are more readily available and can be taken at anytime. However, the site offering unofficial mock tests may charge you a fee for taking their mock tests.
The candidate must focus more on solving sample papers to prepare for the UCEED exam. Note that unlike mock tests, sample papers can be used as exam preparation very early on in one’s exam preparation.

- One of the students, who appeared for UCEED, said that her overall experience was nice and decent. The NAT sections were difficult and there were a lot of area-based questions. She expects the cut-off to go high as people around her were making good drawings and were very quick in answering the questions.
- Another student, who appeared in the UCEED exam, said that his overall experience was good and nice. The aptitude section was easy for him. However, the drawing section was a bit difficult as this is not his forte.
Commonly asked questions
As per the exam analysis done by Shiksha.com, the UCEED 2024 question paper was easy.
That being said, some candidates felt that the paper was a bit lengthy. The paper cotained few surprises, though; note that the UCEED syllabus was revised starting 2024.
The NAT sections was the most difficult of the three sections and included a few area-based questions. Drawing section was of moderate difficulty.
