UCEED exam will be conducted today, January 18, 2026. The exam timing is 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam will have two parts Part A and Part B. Part A has 57 questions and Part B has 2 Questions. The difficulty level of the exam is expected to be moderate to difficult.

UCEED Exam Analysis 2026

UCEED 2026 exam analysis will be released soon, after the exam has been conducted. The exam is from 9 AM to 12 PM. IIT Bombay conducts the UCEED 2026 exam offline in pen-and-paper mode. UCEED Entrance Exam is conducted today, on January 18, 2026 for B.Des programme. 

UCEED 2026 exam was easy. Product design was easy. GK questions were from logos, paintings, and textiles. More questions were from the Mathematics side. One question was there on Chatgpt logo. Most of the students found the exam easy. 

There was a sketching question to draw on the basis of a dog's perspective.

Expected Cutoff: UCEED 2026 cut off is expected to be higher this time. Cut off range will be from 80-100.

UCEED Question paper will have two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A has 57 questions, and Part B has 2 questions. The paper will be of 3 hours and in English. It is compulsory to attempt questions from both parts.

Q:   How many sample papers do I need to solve to prepare for UCEED?
A: 

There is no specific number as such that you need to solve. But that being said, you must try to solve as many sample papers as possible for UCEED 2026. Note that at the initial stage, when you are starting of you exam preparation, you will not be able to solve the complete sample paper. It is only in the last few months, or may be weeks, that you can solve all the questions given in the sample papers. So, if you are able to solve may be say 10 odd sample papers before the exam, you will be in a good place to do well. There are multiple benefits of solving sample papers. The prime being, it will help you develop problem-solving and time-management skills.

Q:   What are the important topics candidates need to prepare for Part B of UCEED 2026?
A: 

The important topics for UCEED 2026 Part B are given below.

  • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.
  • Design Aptitude Capability to practically and appropriately respond to problems/situations with ingenuity and empathy.
Q:   What is the difficulty level of UCEED exam?
A: 

If you consider the question paper of UCEED 2026, then the exam can be considered to be moderately difficult. For instance, of the 68 questions asked, around 18 questions fall in the moderate category, 18 in the moderate to difficult category, while the rest can be tagged easy to moderate. 

In contrast, NIFT and NID DAT are considered to be tougher. This is because in NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective and drawing-related questions. Consequently, the candidate needs to be very creative and have strong fundamentals to answer the questions. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage.

Q:   When should I start preparation for UCEED 2026?
A: 

Given that UCEED is one of the most important and the toughest design entrance exams in the country, one should not wait till the last moments to prepare for the exam. Ideally, the candidate should have at least an year to prepare for the exam. That being said, if the candidate has above average understand of the basics, he or she can easily prepare for the exam in six months. When preparing for the exam, it is important to have a target in mind. For example, the merit rank the candidate wants to achieve. Note that the cut-off rank varies from one institute to another.

If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

To apply at IIITDM, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects in 10+2.

No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.

Yes, students from all the streams can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore. They can fill the Joint seat allocation form if they have cleared the UCEED 2026 Entrance Exam.
