According to the official website of GATE 2017, IIT Roorkee has extended the application dates for the exam to October 10, 2016. The last date to apply for GATE 2017 was October 4.
The website states, "The last date for GATE 2017 Applications has been extended up to 11.00 AM of 10th October 2016 (Monday)".
GATE 2017 exam dates were announced by the organising institute of the exam, IIT Roorkee. The official website of GATE 2017 states, “Organizing Institute: Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. The GATE 2017 examination are scheduled during Jan-Feb 2017. The details shall be posted in this website by June 25, 2016”. According to the official website of GATE 2017, the exam will be held on February 4 – 5, 2017 & February 11 – 12, 2017 (Saturdays and Sundays only).

GATE 2017 Application Process:
Aspirants can register for GATE 2017 in three simple steps:
Registration: The first step towards GATE 2017 is to register yourself on the official website of GOAPS with your name, address, contact details and password. Once registered, you would be required to fill in personal and communication details. Aspirants will also have to choose the paper which they wish to take along with the examination country.
Uploading of documents: At this step, you would be required to upload yopur photo, signature, thumb impression and provisional certificate.
Fee payment: The last step involves paying the GATE 2017 application fee which is Rs. 1500 for Male (General/OBC) and other category students, Rs. 750 for SC/ST/Pwd and Women (All Categories) candidates and $50 for international students.
After a successful payment, a unique “Fee Payment Number” would be generated. This must be saved by aspirants for future use.
This number is important and must be entered before the final submission of the GATE 2017 application form.
