GATE 2021 application correction window has been made available for registered candidates. Students will be able to choose the examination city and edit other details by paying the fee on or before November 13, 2020.
GATE 2021 correction window is available from October 28 to November 13 for all the registered candidates. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has reopened the registration portal today for aspirants to make required changes in their GATE 2021 application form.

As per the official statement released by IIT Bombay, “The change(s), one or combinations, can be made one-time only during Wednesday 28th October 2020 to Friday 13th November 2020 by login at GOAPS portal using candidates’ valid login credentials. Considering the ongoing pandemic situation, GATE 2021 committee has decided to give more options to the successfully registered candidates to modify the choice of cities for GATE 2021 examination at free of cost.”

Candidates will have a chance to change their choice of exam centres as well as cities. Aspirants will be required to login to the GOAPS online registration portal to access and edit their GATE 2021 application forms. Students can choose four cities from the list of examination cities given in the above table. Step-1: Visit the official website at gate.iitb.ac.in or click on the link above
Step-2: Click on the link that reads, ‘GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS),’ appearing on the page
Step-3: Enter your credentials and log in
Step-4: Make corrections in the application form, as instructed

This time a total of 11 new cities have been added in the list the candidates can choose from:
- IIT Bombay (Zone – 2): Seven (7) new cities added are: (i) Himatnagar (GJ), (ii) Palghar (MH), (iii) Latur (MH), (iv) Akola (MH), (v) Dhule (MH), (vi) Ichalkaranji (MH), (vii) Sangamner-Loni-Shirdi (MH).
- IIT Kharagpur (Zone – 6): Three (3) new cities added are: (i) Baharampur-Murshidabad (WB), (ii) Hazaribag (JH), (iii) Machilipatnam (AP).
- IIT Roorkee (Zone – 8): One (1) new city added is: (i) Kangra (HP)

No, GATE questions are not exactly repeated. However, the concept, core, and question format may remain the same. Therefore, candidates must focus on concept-building and practice GATE PYQs as many times as possible. In addition, solve mock test paper to improve accuracy and time management.

Yes, GATE has negative marking for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) only. In GATE question paper, MCQs will be of one and two marks. Hence, the marking scheme for such questions can be checked below -

The PhD admissions to the Institute Assistantship courses at IIT Guwahati require candidates to appear for the GATE or CEED.
